Editing online files without downloading?

Some form of wiki maybe? -
For those of you who have been with Virgin Media a long time - check what you pay against the new customer deals on their web site. If you can get a cheaper deal as a new customer then contact the billing dept who will try and fob you off with an excuse. Politely ask for customer services and explain again nicely (Be prepared for a long wait on hold) I did and I got £10.25 knocked off my monthly tariff I'm committed to a new 12 month contract but that was no bother seeing as I've been with them since the 'Telewest' days

10 squirrel points for using your first post on edugeek to grab a freebie *Internal joke*

Posting a solution on edugeek - wait 6 months - research a problem I have and find the answer. Posted by me 6 months ago

With the Ruckus kit you will probably find you won't need as many APs. We went from 40+ Buffalo APs to 29 Ruckus APs to give us site wide coverage.

Sneaked a view of the report; Edugeek - 'Shows potential but must try harder!'

We had our ruckus kit from Net-Ctrl too. We have an unusual problem here in that some channels are being flooded by some external source that ruckus (or any other kit) could not handle properly. Once we and Mark from Net-Ctrl figured this out we manually assigned channels on the worst affected areas and it now works very well.

What was it? 5 Boxsets?

We used to use E4education before we brought everything in-house. They have a CMS system but it has to be hosted by them. They were pretty good with their support.

I just tried the conversions part and it was taking an age to load the relevant data. Oh well - it is a beta site so may be worth revisiting later.

For those of you who didn't see this on the Gadget show, this looks like a good little time saver. Free online media file conversion (Document, Images, Audio, Video & Archives) Not tried it myself yet so please post any feedback for others

Going through our AUPs and agreements and I've realised that we do not have a 'Home Working Agreement' either as a stand-alone document or as part of our AUPs. Has anyone got one in place, if so how have you worded it to encapsulate DP and Encryption? A copy of the relevant paragraph would be nice

We use GLPI, as stated above it gives us all the info we need although pulling out bespoke reports is a pain. We can however pull up every detail of the equipment from the serial number, type of chipset to software installed as well as all tickets raised since it was installed. SIMs won't give us that detail.
-
Has anyone got GLPI to authenticate to AD?

what's the problem? -
I'm not quite sure what you mean. All staff should adhere to the AUP including admins. Admins may have a privilage granted to them which would allow them to circumvent policies in place for the purpose of a specific task, however if they are abusing the system and mis-using the privilage then they should be taken to task. This is for the protection of the admins as much as anything else.
-
If you have Policy Central you can list all the sites visited by a particular user at any given time (up to 90 days I think)
-
1st question should be why are they not going through the internet/monitoring system? No-one should be exempt during normal use. Not even admins!
-
Nice one Did you put the latest 1.5.15 patch on?
-
Thanks - I found it straight after posting

Is it possible to have a 'Watch this thread' option throughout the forums, rather than posting a gratutitous thread and waiting for replies?

How is the managed system set up? Do you use Radius and has the laptop been added to the Radius group? What security are you using? eg if the managed wireless is using wpa2 is the laptop using the same.

Ebay are changing all the category postage but at the moment only certain catagories are affected. Basically they say you must offer free postage on some categories but if you need to recover postage costs you add it to the starting bid or buy it now price. Great for the big sellers but totally useless for the casual seller. To make matters worse RM are losing packages left right and centre so make sure you can recover your costs as getting refunds from RM is a real pain.

Better not post our findings yet then!!!! I can't afford to be burnt at the stake!!
