I would check those prices against the schools agreements. Our schools pay about £5.00 per Cal and £90ish for the server licence for 2012 which allows for 1 physical and 2 virtual servers

yeah Pulsar is sims access simsload looks at the settings in sims.ini (C:\windows) and then check the version numbers of the local exe's against the versions stored in the setups directory. If you take a look at SIMSPERM.bat (in the setups folder) you will see that you can run the batch file against a user or group to alow the file permissions required to update sims to be applied to the machines. and don't worry about being new to SIMS we all were at one time and lots of help can always be found in here
