Downloaded the Beta and applied to my test system and had to admit that the new homepage is actually rather good. If the device is owned by the school then they may not be able to claim on their household insurance!! When I borrowed my brothers laptop and then damaged it I called my insurance who siad it was not covered as I didn't actually own it.

if you have a dat 72 drive then a 160/80 will be able to be used but can only be written at the dat 72 level ie 36 Gb native size. If you want to use the full capacity of the 160/80 tape you will need a drive to match

I agree with Timzim We are using dat72 systems and are finding that for the large number of our systems we get about 1:1.2 compression ratio. The only time you will see full compression is on standard documents. Video files, music files and other large files will not compress. Eaqually if you have a doc storage system that enctypts data then you will not be able to compress these files.

This is the same in all document programs as the auto save can only save against a know action point. The only way I could see this working would be to start the program fom a named file, automatically created vi a VB script using the days date, stored in the users my documents.

I think that toshiba offer a solution that will allow schools to scan a document and using a special connector save it to sims You can also edit the document and remove addresses etc and then save to the differnt doc area's ie medical. You don't need a toshiba photocopier as they do smaller option. The system is called Ecopy as far as I remember
