I am sure I sound really ignorant, but am I running that on the server or on the affected PC? Because I can't login to the affected PC to run it.

I've created a batch file with this code in it, and put it in my group policy to run before login. I've only tested it on one PC but it's not fixing the problem. I've also got nearly every PC in the school trying to install updates, even though I set all of yesterdays updates to either decline or remove.

I think there has been more than one problem update as my problems are at login.

and actually my affected machines are all 32bit.

My problem isn't to do with Outlook, we don't use it, but we aren't getting that far anyway.

I declined all of yesterdays updates after this happened, and I've still got another affected computer this morning. I am going to try that batch file and above and see if I can fix it without having to reimage.

My school has just been hit in the last half hour, I had one teacher report it, and thought it was a one off, but then walked into the ICT suite and found more screens just flashing. I recalled all the WSUS updates as soon as I realised but it was too late for about 10 machines, so will have to reimage. No idea which update it is, there seem to be about 50 that arrived last night. We use Symantec

The latest .net version, might use the internet, but the standalone version appears to have a database from 2000 which holds the book information. You can download updates to it but only if you have a support contract.

We have a copy of Junior Librarian from 2006. Needless to say, we don't have a support contract. We desperately need to do a stock take, but that appears to be an additional module we would need to buy? I'm toying with deleting the database and starting afresh, but I don't think they system will recognise any books newer than 2006? Is there a way to clear part of the database so I can rescan all the books but we won't have to reenter the details of all the books? Or is there a cheap, and decent alternative. I was recommended an iPad app called Book Retriever but it doesn't look up to the job. We don't have a massive library so I'm loathe to spend £100s on this.

The only issue I have is that if the password needs reseting it takes about an hour before it syncs back to the Chromebook. I don't know if this is unique to our VLE or typical of GAFE but if the child turns up with a Chromebook needing their password resetting I have to log them on as Guest as I can't reset their password during that lesson.

We have the same problem, especially if they haven;'t been plugged in correctly overnight. I can open the back of the cabinet without a key though, there is a handle inside that you pull to open the backdoor, so I've shown staff how to set the timer.

This is the one we have, our baskets hold 8 ipads, and I don't let the cart leave the ICT suite. The kids come and collect the iPads in the baskets to take to the classrooms. It works well for sync'ing (I use Apple Configurator) and seems quite sturdy. We did have a situation where the entire trolley fell over and the ipads survived unscathed.

I took mine home, set them all up and then brought them back into school and they all work fine on the proxy once they had been initially setup. We do this, but they have to sign in using their google apps email address but their VLE password. They can then directly access their google docs/email without reclogging in, but I've realised that the kids automatically go to the Portal (vle) website and login again as this is the procedure they are familiar with. Consequently, I think we'd be as well using the Chromebooks in Guest Mode (but we have problems with the proxy doing that), or setting up some generic Chromebook login accounts, as I don't think we are getting any benefit of them logging into their own account and logging in seems to take a long time out of each lesson.

Just a warning if you are using Reflector to show your ipads on screens. We have updated one iPad to IOS 9 and it no longer works with Reflector 1. There is a new version, Reflector 2, but it's not a free upgrade, just a 20% discount. We just bought 15 copies of this last October, so I'm not particularly impressed....

As Becta is no more, is there a more up to date version of this?

The first week of term I added all our pupils into FFT Aspire and was able to get NC Targets. They have now updated their system to use the new bands, B Below the national standard (bottom 10% of pupils nationally) W Working towards the national standard N National standard (equivalent to old level 4B) A Above the national standard (top 25% of pupils nationally) M Mastery (top 10% of pupils nationally) However, when I try and view my Year 5s it says I don't have any, and Year 6 gives me an error. I can see the kids in Student Explorer so they are there. Anyone else having trouble?

I recently bought a laptop with a touch screen. It wasn't a feature I particularly wanted, but the laptop I liked came with one. I'm surprised at how often I use it. It's certainly not my main way of interacting with the laptop, but I do find myself touching the screen more often than I expected.

I have one but not the other. I am asking as there is a Network Manager job going at a nearby school, and I'm wondering if I should apply.

I'm curious what the line is between ICT Technician and Network Manager. I'm currently paid and employed as 'ICT Tech', but I'm the only one here, hold all the passwords, set everything up. When can you call yourself 'Network Manager'?

I had set up the subjects as departments, and would like to be able to see bookings by subject/department. But for the moment I will rely on the staff entering their subject in the use field. I can manage a bit of SQL to retrieve the data later. Thanks for the system, it was pretty easy to install and it looks great.

Ah, I did mine with a CSV file, so I didn't see that. Unfortunately, most of our staff work in more than one department so that doesn't work quite so well for me, but it's not a big deal.

I've just installed this today. It was very easy to install, and seems to work well, although I haven't tried it on the masses yet, just one question - what is the department used for? I've set them up but can't see where they are used?

I just bought an Air Print printer, that works great, but if they send any photos to print they always print out A4 which uses a lot of ink, and they do like to send lots of photos to print. I just wish I could get it to work with the Chromebooks, it's supposed to be GooglePrint enabled but that hasn't worked et
