  1. Indeed, and in any case it would be pretty useless in a large network environment anyway without central management
  2. The only problem you may come across is the FMS install... On your 32bit stations you will literally need to make a folder called "program files (x86)" and install your FMS client in there if your server is 64 bit.

  6. Hi, Has anyone got SLG2 going with forms based authentication? We aren't lucky enough to have ISA 2006.. presumably this would be the proper way of doing it.. Following the tutorials for WSS3 and FBA but none are working - but I don't know if the SLG2 app supports FBA Thanks
  7. How do you disable it?
  8. They should just torrent it really...
  9. Just checked and Windows 7 enterprise is now available under SA on MVLS
  10. Could I ask how you got a .ac.uk domain? Are you a VI form college?
  11. Interesting to see some of you guys just using the website - I thought EMA payments were dependent on proving attendance (hence why EMA and lesson monitor seem to go hand in hand). Is it just a case of someone going onto a website and confirming whether or not a student was in a lesson? Also who is generally (or should be!) responsible for EMA adminstration in your organisation?

    Keys Ahoy!

Whats the deal with existing KMS? Ie, the ones dishing out vista/2008 activations?
  13. our staff laptops have a GPO setting enabled to remember the last 5 logins - that way they can take their laptop home and logon using just one username/password. Saves having different local accounts and all that stuff. Also our staff dont have local admin - 99.9% of software required is done through GPO. Folder redirection & offline files - not used. We stipulate anything they want securely keeping, they should keep a copy on the network drive. They can fill their staff laptop up with as much cr@p as they want but know it's not backed up. Not sure why your start menus take so long to appear - are you redirecting anything?
  14. And thats assuming the train operator will allow bikes on board - most will not so makes the whole idea of integrated transport a farce.
  15. All of them

  17. Make sure you are specifying port 25 as the port - telnet will just default to 23 otherwise
  18. This is what we use, and there is even a handy package builder (albeit script based, not MSI) Again I don't know if it's legal so just make sure you can uninstall it "en-masse" if required
  19. Ha! Not the ending i was expecting.. is it still under warranty?
  20. Cannot believe they have done that to a MkII GTI - has anyone notified barryboys.co.uk?
  21. Where abouts is your smarthost located in relation to your exchange server? One good test - see if you can telnet to your smarthost (on port 25) from your exchange box. You may also get a more meaningful error message!
  22. Sounds good.. probably easiest to pull the new cat5 through whilst removing the old phone wire! tbh you shouldnt have too much of a problem with inereference/cross talk at 6 metres
  23. Spot on thank you
  24. The HP2015n is a damn good workhorse, and has now ben replaced with the P2055dn - personally not had any problems and I have several running now, however there are some complaints on here about them randomly losing their IP
  25. And if one IWB costs less but consumes as much power as a Boeing 747, which one do you think the school will choose? Then I will be able to talk about all our initiatives, such as virtualisation, printer throttling, power management, 85% PSUs, binning CRT's etc... job done
