My lad is training to be a chef and has decided to flash out and buy a "proper" chef's knife from https://www.blok-knives.co.uk/. As I'm a gentleman of leisure these days, I offered to drive him to Derby so he could have a chat with them. They turned out to be very nice chaps and were extremely helpful - you could choose the type of wood and colour of the handle, have bespoke pins inserted to hold it together and have your own designs laser etched onto the blade - must admit I almost wanted one myself (but not at that price!) - they showed us all round the workshop and explained how everything was made Interesting day out and such a pretty setting beside the Derwent - we popped into Darleys for some lunch too - which was yum! Beats working

I do rate the Aldi Wagyu Burgers when they are in as a special - pretty good for the price

Hi - any walkers amongst you? My 20 year old is looking for some comfortable, reasonably priced footwear for doing a lot of holiday sight seeing when he goes off to Japan in the summer. He's got quite weak arches and his feet ache a lot after he's been on them for a while - so is looking for some that give plenty of support, but look OK (in a Converse lo-top type way) and are not too hot to wear as its going to be very warm and humid. Anybody got any suggestions for decent ones to go and look for?

Oo - our garage is fed by a wire that appears out of the first floor back bedroom and hangs down over the outside loo - haven't managed to find out where that comes from...but it has been working OK for the last 20 odd years - hey ho!

One of my mates converted an old Army van to a camper - he used to work in a marina refitting narrow boats, so did the van in the same stylee - even with a wood burning stove in the corner for heating/cooking. He used to work through the summer and then go off to the Med for winter in the van. Alas kids mean he lives a more conventional lifestyle now

I use a G4 Plus - its fine for the price - pretty nippy and a decent camera which is why I bought it

My uncle likes his halogen oven too - but there is only him in his household. I don't like the combi either and use a conventional gas cooker almost exclusively - not really sure what features you're looking for that a normal oven doesn't give you??
