Funnily enough - I just got mine today - my old watch had packed in, so I bought one of these as an interim - great buy for £7.50! I couldn't get the back off easily either - so did the superglue and nut thing - I used a 1" nut of an old plumbing T junction I had lying around in the garage and after letting it set for 90 minutes - it came off easily - the battery is a bit of a sod though - wasn't sure which screw to loosen - so just prised it out and forced the new one in...and so far its been working fine. I knocked the little magnifying thing off too - I think it looks better without it. I didn't know that nail varnish remover weakened superglue! The strap was tinny - but plenty big enough (in fact I had to take it in a few notches) - and fine for the moment. The only real trouble I had was the winder - it REALLY didn't want to pop out so I could set the time - so I levered it out with a jewelers screwdriver and bent it a bit in the process - it still seems to work fine though. Thanks for the heads up on this one though - top job! Only trouble was - browsing about on ebay - I bought another watch too - a cheapo automatic skeleton type thing - we'll see what that's like in a day or two

I was a bit disappointed with The Man In The High Castle - started strong but didn't deliver imho. As you say though - Westworld is very good. New series of Walking Dead was quite white knuckle too! Crazyhead looks promising too

Dunno if anyone was reading this - but I took the plunge and bought one - and its a cracking little thing for the price! Solid aluminium shell, dual Android and W10 boot. You wouldn't want to play heavy duty games on it - but for browsing etc its fine. Bought the clip on keyboard too for another 20-odd quid - so the whole kit & kaboodle for well under £200

Thanks for those comments - I'm only doing light web browsing and stuff like that - I was more interested in whether anyone had actually used one and what the quality was like - who did you buy it from and were they trustworthy - I'm always a bit nervous of grey importers

I'm thinking about getting a new tablet for (mostly) home use to replace my increasingly slow Asus Saw the reviews of the ChuWi Hi 10 Chuwi Hi10 Tablet - Chuwi - which looks like a bargain - just wondered if anyone had used one "in the flesh" and what you thought - before I chuck some cash at it?

Remember all of those - even carried a pager when my wife was expecting. A friend of mine worked on the development of Laserdisks - I thought they were great when I visited her and saw the quality - shame they didn't catch on - I think I'm right in saying that a Laserdisk rip was about the only way you could get a full and uncensored set of Tom & Jerry cartoons for a long time - you never see them on TV nowadays...

My son has just bought one of these - he's pretty happy with it - except the wifi connection seems a bit flaky - anybody else having/fixed this problem?

I think its a serious error for brand "Hollywood" - whatever happens its going to be looked at as a Top Gear style failure - he'd have been wiser to jump with the others, look like a good guy and keep his options open...imho

I think we should have a "review" of currency - drop all the smaller coinage - its next to worthless and takes up pocket room, maybe start with a 10p pieve as the smallest and then reduce the smaller notes to coins. When decimalisation was introduced and the largest coin was a 50p - it would buy about 4 pints of beer - so nowadays for a similar value - you'd be looking at a £10 coin (and some!)

Are you not on the fibre service with Virgin then? I get consistent 70Mb even on their lowest tier. How far are you from the exchange - I'm not that far away, but BT estimated 6Mb to me - and I guess that was probably generous - so sucking up the price rise ready for a new moan at Virgin to get a price reduction in the near future

Yeah - I've had a few goes - using a modded popcorn maker and on the hob - but never got anything as nice as from my preferred coffee shop (hasbean.co.uk) - and god did it make a mess - I didn't count on all the chaff that flies off - made a right mess of the kitchen - so much so I was banished to the garage I did look at getting a roaster, but can't really justify it at the moment.

My old Jura Imprezza F90 bean to cup machine died recently after many years of service. Being a bit of a caffeine fiend - disaster! After a lot of internet trawling, I saw the replacement I fancied (but could not afford) - the Melitta Caffeo Bistro - but then - gawd bless Amazon's non tax paying cotton socks - one appeared in their Amazon Warehouse section - box opened at half price. A very nervous few days ensued until it arrived - and although the box was really kicked about and the manual and water test strips were missing - it didn't look like it had ever been used. A couple of hours of messing about with the settings and its making better espresso than the old Jura ever did - yum!
