Hi - dunno if anyone is thinking of buying one of these over Christmas - I've just bought one for my Mum - I was purchasing direct from Humax and had added the box to my "shopping cart" but didn't complete the transaction, next day they had emailed me a 1-% off voucher to encourage me to complete the purchase. Worth bearing in mind to save a few quid! Edit - oops should have read 10% as you probably guessed!

I reckon vented are best - if it fits in the garage - can't you vent it there - I just cut a 4" hole for the pipe for ours and it works fine

I usually leave myself logged in to Edugeek more or less all the time. Recently though I find I have to log back in each time I access the site - is this a deliberate new behaviour or do I need to adjust a setting somewhere?

Hi - just been trying to fix this remotely for a friend - I'm not running w10 yet - but wondered if anyone had seen & fixed something similar... They have done the update from w7 and it seems OK - apart from the fact that Edge, activation and other bits and pieces say that there is no access to the internet, however, Chrome works fine as does TeamViewer?? I had a flick through the settings - it seems to be picking up an IP address and DNS settings OK, I couldn't see any obvious causes and the problem is there whether on wifi or directly plugged Any ideas?

It had CBM on the front and a number (can't remember what) - I was so surprised at seeing it, I didn't really take in any details - was the floppy integrated? I don't recall a separate box. A blast from the past - wasted many hours playing Space Invaders on one of them in about 1980!

Went out this afternoon to a pine furniture shop round the corner from where I live - its closing down and thought I might get a bargain. The wife picked out a cheap mirror, and when we went to pay, the bloke was doing his stock inventory on a Commodore Pet! Hadn't seen one in years - he said he'd bought it when he started the business and never saw the point in changing it. Impressively reliable as I guess there isn't anyone repairing them these days - I nearly offered to buy it.

Due to a glut of cream arriving at our local "Real Junk Food Cafe", spent today making butter. Its a lot easier than I thought, though quite time consuming as you have to wash the buttermilk out after beating it. Still it tastes really lush - flavoured with some Maldon sea salt. Made a big chocolate cake with the butter and buttermilk as well - yum!

Yeah - the money seemed really good in those days, don't think I've been that well off since - though I suppose a mortgage and child might have something to do with that!

The rejection of a BBC1+1 channel seems wrong to me - all the commercial channels have them and heaven forfend we should get to see stuff that we've already paid for!

Been clearing out the garage and came across a big box of Wired mags from the mid 90s - what an exciting and innocent world we lived in then - when a new modem was worth a double page colour advertising spread and the articles speculate on how great it would be if we could order stuff over the net and have it delivered straight to us!! Wow!! Also a nice piece on how they reckon China might be a big player soon, and HotBot is the big new search engine - bless! Also in the box a load of Omni mags from even earlier - sometimes I love my horder instincts - pity I missed peak pricing with the collection of 2000AD comics though :-(
