  4. I don't think it was set up by the former Tesco CEO - but he is on the board now. My Mum rates them for bargains - don't think we've got one down here
  5. I would think you'd need to enter into some sort of escrow agreement to ensure that you could get access to the data and possibly the software, but realistically, I imagine you would be deeply in the do-dos
  6. Again...again...
  7. Had a similar problem to this years ago - caused by an electric kettle causing a surge - can you get any type of protection for the switches on even a temporary basis?

  10. Sounds like a scandalous waste of public money...
  11. Score:33/36 Understanding Your Score The average score for this test is in the range of 22 to 30 correct responses. If you scored above 30, you may be quite good at understanding someone’s mental state based on facial cues. If you scored below 22, you may find it difficult to understand a person’s mental state based on their appearance. Look into my eyes, not around my eyes....
  12. Enjoying it - but I don't find the Steve Pemberton character very convincing though
  13. I stopped using the dried milk powder and the sugar, and didn't have any problems, even think it tastes a bit nicer - not so sweet
  14. Yeah - though I read recently that the demand for spelt was so great now that the price had doubled Spelt flour 'wonder grain' set for a price hike as supplies run low | Money | The Guardian
  15. If they're having trouble with the sun - stick the monitor where the sun don't shine (as they say) - problem solved!
  16. Umm - if its 240 ex vat and delivery, isn't that £288 inc vat plus delivery? Not much of a saving over Amazon...
  17. I had one of my favourite demos at their offices (back 2003-4 time) - they were supposed to be demoing their software to me and our office manager and they couldn't get it to work - the techie and the sales guy starting arguing and it nearly ended in fisticuffs. Needless to say, we didn't pursue a purchase...
  18. Have a look at avidemux or Freemake - they'll do most of it - you can get quite a few "how to" guides on afterdawn.com
  19. Being an old fuddy duddy - I'd say - "Think about it", not just casually, but in detail, and then think about it some more - how is it all going to fit together, how will you make it flexible enough so that that when things change, you won't be rewriting from the ground up, assuming you're looking at flogging it on to other schools - go and look at how they do things - it might not be the same as you are used to and your coding will need to reflect the differences that you see - then write down how it'll work and dry run some data through it. Its a common error to dive right in - and it often leads to a lot of unnecessary effort later...
  20. We had Extreme switches for about 6 years - they were no trouble after they had been set up - but we didn't find the company at all helpful on the support side
  21. Yes - but if you're not being paid to provide out of hours cover and you're not getting any other benefits from doing the work - you're being taken for a mug
  22. I've got one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Live-Stream-Media-Player/dp/B005MYX33K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1398443744&sr=8-2&keywords=wd+tv+live+player similar to the Roku - all my films, photos and music sit on a PC share and I use the WD Live to view them - I'm very happy with it
  23. Dunno - I'll google it up
