  1. Coupling was a much underrated show I thought
  2. Very nice - does it do what I was after?
  3. Just been to see The Hate U Give, as the wife had just read the book. Pretty meh, I thought with a bit of a glib ending
  4. Just bought a new (to me) car and am thinking of replacing the existing head unit with an aftermarket Android job. What I want is an app that has the following specific functionality, which mimics the operation of my old HU - I want it to play random tracks from whatever I load on, but if I hear one I really like - I want there to be a single button that when pressed will play all the tracks from the album that the current track is from (preferably in album order) and then drop back to playing random tracks My music is organised like this (if thats important) Artist/Album/Tracks Any pointers much appreciated
  5. I believe they have a stranglehold on national newspaper and magazine distribution - which probably helped a lot until fairly recently
  6. Just something to cheer you up on a Monday morning...
  7. Oh - very sad - loved his stuff
  8. AAAAAArrrrggghhhhh!!!!
  9. Now I'm going to have that bloody theme tune in my head for weeks!
  10. Well - I bought a "new" used car on Wednesday (Hyundai i30, since you ask) - didn't manage a discount, but a got the free warranty, 1 year roadside assistance, full service, MOT, full tank and a not bad part ex value on my truly ancient Toyota (and boy will I miss it - I love it - but finance dictates that I must say goodbye to its 16 mpg 3 litre engine and say hello to 60+ mpg diesel ) Oh - and when being arm wrestled about the finance deal, I said I was a muslim and I was not allowed credit - that shut him up - though it did mean I couldn't pay with my credit card and get the cash back vouchers
  11. Hard to say - have a check on AutoTrader to see how much they are going for. Haggle for a long MOT, or Car Tax (don't forget its non transferable now - so you'll need to get it before you drive away!) Shame though - I'm thinking of buying a used Civic - dunno where you are, but we could've had a chat!
  12. American Animals - drama/documentary on a group of students and their disasterous heist of valuable books from the university library. Its very well put together, really tense and also funny in parts - well worth a look
  13. Smeared memory loss Is caused by product damage Please timely backup...
  14. Congrats and all the very best!
  15. They can only insist if certain conditions are met or you live in particular areas
  16. And Debenhams following shortly, I'd guess
  17. btw - I'd really recommend Gnomon by Nick Harkaway - its sort of sci-fi, dystopian, detective, thriller and more AND well weird - its a long read and really keeps you guessing at what the hell is going on - I read it a few months ago and forgot to post
  18. Yeah - got that for my birthday - so starting it any day now
  19. My elderly mother uses ebico coz they let her pay quarterly by cheque without slapping some ridiculous surcharge on ("Just like I used to with the Electricity Board")
  20. Have to say, that's not been my experience. Years ago when I was on the dole and lived in a grotty bedsit, I returned home one day to find the wires to my meter had been cut and bent over and taped up. Not a happy bunny
  21. Railhead Vol 3 - Station Zero by Philip Reeve - excellent fun for a kid's book
  22. Its making me glad that I picked up a cheap portable aircon in a sale a few years back
  23. Not sure why people are so keen on smart meters? Specially after reading that "surge pricing" is written into their software - I've no desire to be charged a premium rate when its cold in the winter
  24. Had a few big ops myself - the thing that freaked me out last time (last November) was signing the consent form that has a risk assessment on it that shows your chance of surviving the op as a percentage. Since I don't have a choice about whether to do it - its information I really don't need or want (specially as it was under 60%)!
  25. Not much imho - beautifully shot, but overhyped and in need to a strong editor. I thought Humans did the same thing, but better.
