  1. Firstly can you confirm if the NICs you have highlighted above are in a team, or if each Nic has the IP address assigned directly to it? Secondly can you upload an Ipconfig /all for each server pls? Thirdly what is the Ip of the array that these NICs connect to? Why so many IP's? If the iscsi NICs on the servers are in a team then it is in my view pointless having more than 1 ip on a teamed interface, personally I don't team iscsi interfaces.
  2. Glad you sorted it. Was just about to give you some troubleshooting steps

  7. Sounds like you want fault tolerance (ft) rather than ha. Explained here http://searchvmware.techtarget.com/guides/Know-your-uptime-Differences-between-VMware-FT-and-HA Still requires shared storage though. Nick Vcp vcap
  8. Thanks for above replies, I'll take a look
  9. Hi Anyone know how to stop Windows 10 from auto updating. I want to set it to manual and initiate it manually. Thanks
  10. Look at mobile iron it's really good. Or BES now does all mdm not just blackberry.
  11. Dc, DNS and dhcp all sit nicely together on the same box. Also with dhcp in 2012 it is easier to provide HA. The old method of a manually split scope across 2 servers is now gone. you can now load balance dhcp across 2 servers. This is all handled by the dhcp server and does not need external components such as nlb. Works really well too. Nick
  12. Netapp can do huge amounts including snapshot ting of exchange and sql. They are really good bits of kit.
  13. Give this a try https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998329%28v=exchg.80%29.aspx
  14. Split DNS is definitely the correct solution. Nick
  15. When I worked in the school my boss wrote seats 4 learning software in php. He also developed super grass informer See it here http://www.ashearl.co.uk/ Nick

  17. What exchange version is the old DB from? As long as it is 2010 and your exchange server is 2010 you should be able to create a recovery database and use that file. You may then depending on needs have to create a new database and restore the mailboxes into it to be able to connect them to outlook. I just recovery is required a recovery database and powershell should be fine. First place I would start is ensuring the database is in a clean state. Open cmd Cd to dir which has DB in it and run eseutil /mh dbname ensure it has clean shutdown. Then create recovery database. Nick
  18. How many people here use netapp SANs and what model? Thanks
  19. If server is no longer required, turn it off and run a metadata cleanup on the good dc. Nick
  20. The internet explorer maintenance bit of GP doesn't work with IE 10 and above. To set proxy for these you will need to use Group policy preferences. You will only be able to create an IE 10 template from GPMC on a windows 8 or 2012 machine. The IE 10 template also works for 11 Nick
  21. Virtual centre can and vmware recommend it should be a Vm guest. This is perfectly acceptable as in the event of host failure hA would still restart the VC vm.
  22. Hi Vcentre 5.5 can manage lower hosts so that would work. Personally I would go 5.5.0b rather than 5.1. Sso is much improved in 5.5 as is the web client etc.
  23. Have a look at netapp dfm
  24. If you have a database with a lot of white space there are two options. One is time consuming and involves downtime the other is always my preference and involves no downtime. Create a new database and move the mailboxes to it then delete old database. The white space stays in the old database. That's my preferred option the other is an offline defrag using eseutil /z which involves downtime from start to finish. Nock
  25. You can add a new drive to your server and then create a new database and move the mailboxes into the new database. However depending on size of database and no of mailboxes you may want to think about splitting the one database down into two smaller ones. Also keep an eye on white space as this can over inflate a database if you do a lot of archiving or similar. Nick
