Last time I holiday'd abroad the only english channel was the BBC World Service. Good for background noise while you're waking up.

Add DNS A records in the first domain that resolve to IP addresses in the second domain?
-
We've done this here and regreated it. CuBase is a complete arse! Contacted Steinberg who said the configuration was not officially supported. We mostly get driver mapping errors that usually can be resolved by deleting the pupils profile.

You mean like "rain on your wedding day"? (lesson on human folly being "don't get married in February") See, I'd say Irony is a juxtaposition of an expected outcome given a chain of events - like Microsoft using an Apple plugin

Welll, someone had to post it! (and, yes, that Apple plug in does strike me as ironic - for a MS site, in a MS browser. I wonder what it say's if you click on the "tell me about the risks" button?)

I'm slightly older and remember doing them. I did it twice, two different schools, for some reason. Vaguely remember it being a OMR sheet that was filled in and sent off for analysis. A dot matrix print out came back a few weeks later listing possible job opportunities. The questionnaire was easilly rigged so you knew it was going to tell you what you wanted to hear. At the time I wanted to be either in the Law or in IT - so it came back listing thing like Policeman, Barrister, and Programmer. I actually still have both sets of print outs at the bottom of a cupboard somewhere, along with my Egg and Spoon race certificate. -
For flame grilled thighs, Advent (aka PC-World/Dixons) were putting top end desktop P4's into laptop's back around 2003/4 time. I'm pretty sure I remember the return rate (from those customers who could lift the things with 20" sceens) being pretty high.

I think that's slightly debatable. Looking at shows like Top Gear, Doctor Who, Merlin, Musketeers, Robin Hood, etc. I'd say the Beeb always have half an eye on what they can sell into worldwide syndication and DVD releases. As evidenced by lack of historic content in iPlayer - they'd sooner make us pay twice with a DVD boxset than put it up for free.

DoE's website list's it under "Statory Requirement". So I think it is compulsory. The bullet points seem to me to cover the basics. Maybe it's the quality of teaching?

I often wondered the same thing. I also wondered what was ment by "citizenship" and never really put the two together. I've thought before that teaching Law, Politics, Enconomics and Philosophy as descrete subject might be more benefical but I suppose, at KS3/4 Citixenship probably does cover whats really needed. Alteast according to the National Curriculum: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-curriculum-in-england-citizenship-programmes-of-study/national-curriculum-in-england-citizenship-programmes-of-study-for-key-stages-3-and-4 I'd like to see schools offer those subjects as decrete GCSE's though...

Okay, So, I've convinced our ISP to allow us to use both our primary and backup line simultanously. I'll be using Smoothwall to load balance the lines and provide failover. We also, have a number of live IP addresses on two seperate subnets (one for each gateway router). I have a small number of servers (web, email, etc) that need to be accessed from the outside world. My question is, what's the best way of achieving this? I could put them behind a reverse proxy with local private IP's instead of using the public IP's. Or is there a way of using a public IP from each subnet to the site is available via either route? Thanks

Wahoo! Finally! Looking forward to this big time... Just waiting on news for DriveClub now and I'll actually have some decent games to play on the PS4! Still always this waiting gives me plenty of time to catch up on the Hitman series (play Blood Money now) and troll the XB1 thread!

You're just bitter because you've got an Audi R8 and we go a Nissan GT-R. Nothing wrong with an Audi R8 - nice reliable motor. We're just gonna beat you off the line is all (cars picked because of their positions on the top gear power lap (List of Top Gear test track Power Lap Times - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia))

Weeelll, that's almost right! Don't forget the PS3 had all them extra SPU core's which helped it kick 360's butt And, also remember - if we use lower res on PS4 we've got EVEN MOAR POWERZ for our AI, physics, lighting, frame rate, etc. Just saying. (can I have a SDL badge as well please Mr Admin Sir?)

A more serious answer, to the actual question... Technically, yes servers are just desktop's with server s/w which is left turned on 24/7, but... ...purpose built server hardware tends allow for various forms of hardware redundancy so the server can remain online when a component fails. (RAID, EEC memory, redundant PSU's, multi-CPU, hot swapping, etc)

How much does it really matter whether the games 720p, 960p, or 1080p? I'm sitting 10ft+ away from a 42" screen. I'm more concerned about story/gameplay, physics, AI, lighting than resolution. Hell, I'm more concerned the game doesn't drop so many frames I need motion sickeness tablets to make it past the loadin screen. (says a PS4 owner whose console isn't getting as much resolution based bad press as his XBox One owning compardras )
