All this negativity! I still think Facebook are one of the few companies that has the money and possibly ideas to do something truely exciting with it. If they can come up with a wearable device that's not reliant on any existing console or PC hardware...

I'd say Resogun, but...(PS4) I know you said no Run n Gun - but Mercenary Kings looks like it'll be this month PS+ game for PS4. AFAIK, it's been on Steam for a while. And it looks uber-fun in a Metal Slug kind of way.

In order: 1) Galaxian 2) Defender 3) everything else

Looks like the answer's no: Attaching Physical Hard Disks to Hyper-V VMs - Ben Armstrong - Site Home - MSDN Blogs The snapshot processes freezes a VHD and creates a new extension file to record changes to. This file is either merged with the original VHD or discard when the snapshot is deleted.

FreeDOS with a Format command in an autoexec.bat file?

Sorry for the confusion. At the domain level (same level as the Users and Computers you are refering to) I have single OU that is the name of the school. I then have all other OU's within that. So... Domain/School/Computers/Students not Domain/Computers/Students.
-
I tend to go for something a bit more granular.. domain ...site name ......Computers .........Staff ............ ............ ............... ............ ................ .........Pupils ............ ......Users .........Staff ............Admin ............Teaching ................ .........Students ............. ......Groups .........Security .........Email ......Network .........Computers .........Servers .........Users .........Groups ......Terminal Servers This allows better targeting of GPO's. I tend to use 4 types of GPO - Security, Internet, Software Install, Printers. So I can set a Printer GPO at the Computers/Staff level so all teacher get the staffroom printer. Or an Internet GPO at Users/Students/Year 7 so they get more restrictions. Or whatever.

Just because... Maybe, maybe not... Well, that's one use. Won't need to use a computer for that then Emerge, Learning Gateway Google Docs? WebDAV? They turn into four year old non-Apple supported devices? I'm more inclined to ask why he bought it? This isn't a Facebook thing. Is he doing a Google/Apple/Amazon and making a play for the console market? Or is he really only interested in the (rather rediculous IMHO) communications aspects of it? Both Sony and MS are developing their own VR head gear for PS4 and XB1 respectfully. I don't see VR headgear working in a TV console environment. (consoles next to the TV. Cable from head to console? or two high def displays run over a wireless signal?). I think FB have the money and clout to develop the rift into a full fledged standalone gamind experiance that could be kinda of interesting if played right. Imagine a pico form factor console device that could clip to your belt. Attach headset and controller. Use SDHC cards to load games. I'd buy one. I suppose time will tell what he makes of it. Probably just a PC add on and communications tool.

Exhcange: Sending and Recieving with Google?
tmcd35 replied to tmcd35's topic in Enterprise Software
Sorry @Soulfish, didn't see your reply sooner. Too busy battling printers and Internet connections! Here's where I'm at for any body who finds this thread experiencing similar issues - Send Connector - Scope needs to be * for all extrernal domain - not the name of your own domain (could only send mail to itself) Recieve Connector - FQDN/HELO/220 - needs to respond with the external FQDN of the server not the internal FQDN (mailserver.myschool.norfolk.sch.uk NOT mailserver.mydomain.local) DNS - A PTR record is needed to varify the validity of the MX record. Not 100% strictly required but other mailservers (google) may not like sending mail to an unknown host it can't varify through reverse DNS. This is currently with our ISP (RM Broadband) since I can't set up PTR records for out Public IP range on our Public DNS server. This site - MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox - was a god send in sending me in the right direction! - - - Updated - - - Sorry @Soulfish, didn't see your reply sooner. Hi, We have a new exchange server. It has a real internet IP and is in our DMZ (Windows fully updated and firewall on). The accounts appear to be recieving e-mail - which is good, but... When I test sending and recieving I get nothing. I send from my Gmail account to my Exchange inbox and nothing appears. I send from my Exchange account to my Gmail inbox and nothing appears. We have our own DNS server on the same subnet that hosts the Exchange servers A record and MX record. Nslookup from the internet responds with the correct IP for the exchange server. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on? Thanks
-
Wahoo - and now the blank page has gone
-
Yep, blank page is page redirect not working. Need to revisit the code for that. Important thing is the right IP is responding that means our DNS server is set up correctly and my PC is storing old data somewhere and needs flushing.
-
Thank you. So, we're going to the right IP, something not set up on the web server correctly (and my browser cache is carp). Always helpful getting an external view when diagnosing these types of problem
-
Anyone able to test, or have any ideas?

Hi, I'm trying to set up a new DNS server and think I may have got something wrong. This server is not domain joined and is being used on a public IP address in our DMZ to be the authorative name server for our domain - hobart.norfolk.sch.uk I have logged into our Nominet account and pointed the domain at our new name server. I have set up A records for out web server and MX records for our e-mail server. Not certain it's working properly. The webserver should be re-directing to another host at Website is under construction but I don't think the original domain is be resolved. Can anybody out there test our domain - http://www.hobart.norfolk.sch.uk/ and see if it does resolve and redirect properly? Also, have I done this correctly? should it work? Nominet points to our name server which then points to the hosts? Thanks

That's an interesting one. For all my socialist and liberal views, it's actually something I firmly disagree with because I see it as punshing someone for being successful and is really a means of covering up holes and inequalities elsewhere. I'd like to see a single tax rate paid by all with no personal allowance. Get rid of VAT and other duties as much as is allowable under EU law. And set the net National Minimum Wage at 10% above the Living Wage - then peg it to inflation/deflation. As for this year, I think the budget was a little lack luster for me, nothing to write home about. Work as bumbped me up 1 spinal point, we have a 1% pay increase on top of that, and the personal allowance is upto £10,000 from the next pay packet. All in all, I'm better off. So nothing to complain about either.
-
So where does the money come from to pay for this reduction in benefit this penalty? And worse still, who does it effect? It's a hidden tax on the poorest and most needy in our society - which is just plan wrong! The effect of the penalty is to unjustly tax those that really cannot afford it - to claim anything else (like calling it a "spare room subsidy") is being disingenuous.
-
Erm, being asked to pay £15 per week (or about that) for each unused bedroom = real money being taken out of real peoples wallets = tax. Where did you think the money paying this "subsidy" was coming from other than out of peoples pockets?
-
It is what it is. You may as well charge 5% to everyone who refers to a "shovel" as a "spade" then! I see nothing wrong with describing a tax on bedrooms as a "bedroom tax" even if it's being officall spun as the "spare room subsidy"

I don't know, a couple of lettice leaves, some cheese and pineapple, fava beans and a nice cianti - Sounds better than half the "meals for one" at our local Tesco.

RAM. Max 32Gb on the 5C, 64Gb on the 5S. It's the reason I bought the 4S I have now. I need 64Gb for all my MP3's. That said, I think - after having owned a iPhone 2, iPhone 3S and iPhone 4S - I'll be going for a Sony Z1 Compact, or maybe Z2 next time! iPhone is far, far too expensive even on heavety contracts to be worthwhile any more. I can get a more than good enough Sony at half the cost and fit a 64Gb SDHC card. On topic... Not questioning the validity of the original artical or other wise - The results do make sense given Apples history at choosing quality components over price/specifications. Picturer quality on cameras as alway been about lens quality over everything else. Wouldn't surprise me to learn Apple are buying the best lenses and sacrificing pixel count on cost.

Police? Reservists - TA? What did we do pre-1792? Before the telegraph? How did we fight the American Revolution War? Some oaf empowered by the state points a gun at you... you ignore him? Might not be fluid, but lines of communication can easilly be re-established (messangers on horseback (Okay push-bikes)). We're not exactly the largest of land masses. It's also were I have a problem. For it to be a real issue, then pretty much the whole globe has to be effected. Other wise, why doesn't aid agencies and the UN swoop down and rescue us? For an event to take out all the electricity aross the the entire globe - As species we'd be extremely unlucky to survive what ever it was. About the only thing capable, without wiping out the species, is a freak solar flaire. If that happened. Would it also take out a switched off desiel powered backup generator in Parliaments basements? Might not last very long, but long enough to re-establish some kind of order?
