Bad advice. AOL give the best connection to an ADSL 8Mb I've found - no downtime and good speeds (registered torrent sites give 800KBps) NO CAPS and NO AUP that entitles them to screw around and traffic shape.

It kicks in after you download over their AUP cap... it definately exists - they were a nightmare to move from and I wouldn't have unless completely necessary...

If you think they can't do anything you obviously never played games (Lemmings, Mad Professor, Chuck Rock, Pac-Mania, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Repton etc), programmed in BASIC (F12) or used Talking Pendown! Never had an econet but wanted it more than anything in the world! Our webmail is playing up atm and I hear three or four times a day "The internet is down again' - everytime I answer with "Is the internet down or the email down?" Every time it's just the dodgy webmail - one day the internet connection will be down and I'll ignore their neeping... (The admin staff that neeped 'INTERNET DOWN')

Agree on the 'what would you do if...' relating to childrens safety. Expect senarios and work through the solution as logically as you can... bear in mind things like security of wireless resources and the limitations in software or hardware that you may come up against due to licensing or budgets. Which version are you using? The question master seems to ignore any input... We got it working for the lesson by using the AdHoc question button- maybe I'll invest some time in this later in the week...

I'm trying to set a 'Yes'/'No' question and then put the results up on the next slide. This software is HORRIBLE to use. If anyone has a template for this should-be-simple task I would really appreciate it. All the devices are correctly connected but all I seem to produce from the delightful 'Question Master' program included is a non active question then blank page.. Any pointers? PS I hate this software...

It's always a personal debate... I'm just nosey and love to find out what everyone is up to. It's the people that you really didn't know, say, you met once, drunk at a party who you don't want to offend by not accepting their friend invite... I love facebook anyway. I'm at the same stage mate - infact we made our offer in December so it's been dragging out with various awful buyers since then. The latest is that our buyer hasn't paid his valuation fee... for three weeks! Arghhh... Everything else is sorted (I think) but it is a horrible position - spending weekends unable to do anything with the current house and planning the new... just hoping to be in before BBQ season atm!

Is it possible to not install the AOL stuff? I thought you needed to log on through their software. Maybe things have changed? Anyway, there are plenty of ISPs out there, not the bigs boys you mentioned, but others who for £30 per month will give you massive download cap with no traffic shaping. Yep, AOL now give you a real router with a real router firmware and allow you to connect all your computers (etc) to the real internet now! No caps or traffic shaping (they do have a FUP but I was told it is against their ethos to enforce shaping) Changed BB provider so many times for bad service, slow downloads or caps - very happy with AOL. We're all techies here, I don't need to tell you to throw away the AOL CD that comes in the box
