It's an ongoing joke with my friends that 'I'm so posh' because I played in the Hampshire U14 Chess Team... Not posh, a little geeky maybe...

Reading about chess makes it difficult to understand. Join a club or play online would be my advice.

Gods was amazing - had that on my Acorn Archimedes! Also loved Mad Professor, Bug Hunter in Space and Interdictor (flight sim)

No register is going to be without errors. If a child is missing then it noone would be expected to reenter the building to retrieve someone that might not be in anyway! I think the main point in a real evacuation is just to get out and sort out if anyone is missing later. Some staff have a responsibility to check the area they're working.

Quick way to logon on a whole room.

Thanks metalmonkey - completely missed this thread but I think your work on LanView is worthy of erecting a shrine in your honour! Awesome work - can't wait for the new version. -
I love the fact that with IE7 a new browser is launched if you try to visit a website from explorer - makes my basic filter work beautifully.

Logging on multiple computers.

Our were installed before I started. One of the main problems is that I can't just take out one cassette for testing as there is no space or equipment in my office. Support is awful - I contacted them ages ago - problems with PSU on several + two dead cassettes and nothing... -

Not at the moment - the computers are built into the desks and the room is in almost constant use at the moment. Stupid idea those iDesks... I blamed LanView when iTalc didn't work before but it's one of those things where I couldn't justify the amont of hours that it took to setup... wish I knew what was wrong because I've heard nothing but good things about it! -

I don't iTalc likes something else I have installed on the suite - it never installed successfully. Is it that it works on the same ports as VNC? I also have LanView which is great for starting and shutting down the computers. Will try again when I have some free time with the place empty but was looking for a simplier, short-term solution - if there are any other suggestions or a way to get iTalc working alongside LanView? -
Father Ted and Fawlty Towers have US cousins? WOW - hadn't heard of them!

Does anyone know of software (pref. free!) to log onto a suite of computers with the same username/password. We often have outside groups using the rooms and it's a pain to go round each computer typing in the guest account details. Many thanks!

I like the fact that the US versions have more episodes per series. The IT Crowd only had six - US IT Crowd will be the usual 22 standard episodes then 23-24 as an end of series special- quantity over quality... I also like the American version of The Office but it's a different creature (and it's still written and directed by Gervais/Merchant)

Anyone remember Barcode Battler? I wanted one so much and eventually found at a carboot sale. It was rubbish!

A Darwin Award heading their way!

Just tested on our iDesk computers - standard BIOSes and they wouldn't work... Don't tend to have any problems with kids trying to get into the BIOS anyway (smug)

None of those worked on my PCs...

We use Novatech for PCs - (for us it's local too)

Has anyone ever managed to get themselves a payrise?

LOL - *imagines Nathan with a £300k mortgage, 8 kids by 5 different dads and a stay-at-home, layabout husband!* -
Lock the thread, hell, delete it - it's bringing some people's true colours out.

Perhaps we should be persecuting some to the lay-about dole scum so they feel lucky that they can apply for asylum elsewhere in the world - I can recommend some places...

Seriously - if you're going to be racist in a public forum then people are going to get angry that you don't keep your pathetic 'Daily Mail' ideas to yourself. I realise that no-one mentioned colour of skin but that's not the only way you can be racist. I have people from Poland, Portugal, Spain and France in my daily life and they are far from the what the media will have small-minded, ignorant people believing.. and they're all white! People come to England to work and are held back if they cannot become a citizen because they cannot pay taxes. Immigrants are the hardest working people I've had the pleasure to work with.

You do realise there isn't a REAL room... I think I'll start my own, a room 102... damn being limited to room 101's five things... damn it to room 102
