    Office 2007 was the last office version you were able to deploy via GP with MSIs. Office 2010+ needs a startup script for deployment.

    Sorry, I assumed you were going down the MDT route...Looking at my MDT server, the MDT console is actually called 'Deployment Workbench'. As for the question about 32/64bit it's best to have both. Also, the link posted by @fiza was what I used to help me set my MDT server up - looks scary but is an excellent guide!

    In the MDT console, right click the deployment share > update deployment share. Follow the wizard and after the wizard has finished, the boot image should be in the boot folder in the deployment share.

    You can create 2 shortcuts, but use item level targeting to target 1 shortcut for XP & the other for 7. Item level targeting can be found on the common tab when you create the shortcut (see post by mike1879 in the linked post above.

    If you have server 2008 you could use group policy preferences: Deploying desktop shortcuts via GP for 32-bit programs on 64-bit O/S - Spiceworks Use the computer settings (rather than user) and look for the shortcuts option under preferences > Windows settings > shortcuts. this has an option for the all users desktop

    Intel Rapid Storage drivers can cause system slowdowns too (although I've never seen this myself).

    Sadly, this is how it ended up for me after ~5 years of using Linux distros, all thanks to AMD/ATI and their rubbish linux drivers after a computer upgrade. I always install SSH by default as you never know when/if you need it and it has saved me a number of times.

    You could download it and remove the sources/ei.cfg file. This should then show what versions are on the ISO (IIRC from Win7/2008R2 upwards this should be all versions, apart from 7 Enterprise)

    I just blocked all chrome:// urls with chrome://* and whitelisted the few we need. It seems to be working well for me (even on the OSX side of things too).

    For home use my microserver runs ESXi hosting 2 windows servers running AD/IIS/WSUS/WDS/MDT, Sophos UTM (home version) and assorted linux VMs pretty well. It's only me that uses it though.

    I think chrome has it's own inbuilt flash player.

    the default port is 8530 rather than 80 on server 2012/2012r2 (point your clients to http://wsusserver:8530 rather than http://wsusserver:80 in GP) Also a good guide here (Use the 2008R2 guide as it's pretty much the same in 2012+)

    I guess XP will finally XPire today then. I remember upgrading my first machine from 98SE to XP (then getting it riddled with viruses and the like by installing free screensavers!).
