After some comments, and significant drop off on the DDSS Minecraft server, the next EduGeek Minecraft server is up and running - MC.Eternal Server address: mc.edugeek.net MC.Eternal can be downloaded via the Twitch app We are using version 1.3.5.3 Note: This is a large pack, make sure you give it 8GB RAM to use! Oh, and it takes ages to load, so make a cuppa while you wait! As always, to be whitelisted on the server, please visit your Profile on the site and add you Minecraft username to the field there. The server updates the whitelist every 6 hours. It can also be updated manually if you PM me and I'm around to do it.

Same. Can't see the point in running Docker when its already gonna be on its own dedicated VM.

That is a very narrow graphic - specifically state secondary school cloud MIS users it seems. There are 4188 such schools in the UK, so that list is around 9.4% of them. Not that small.

I enjoyed Picard. It was a more thoughtful experience than Discovery. More about building backstory and lore before going crazy with the battling. But that makes sense as its a show following 1 main character.

So, you're going in circles there then @kennysarmy. Which is what I knew would happen - basically, someone in a department we don't have access to is the one who makes this decision, and support or licensing don't have any say.

Yes, if you record outgoing calls, you have to let them know, and let them know how the recording will be used.

And support will blame your using the wrong version if you do have any issues. "Oh, we don't support that version, sorry".

One thing to remember - if you use SIMS .Net, Office 365 isn't supported by them. Their latest supported version is Office 2016. Summer 2020 release will introduce support for Office 2019.

DBS is only for EES customers (large, university sized generally), not OVS-ES. We are stuck in limbo at the moment.

OK, so I worked through this with someone from Google. It wasn't saying *why* it was blocking things. All the emails were passing SPF and DKIM. Turned out to simply be the default spam stuff - our helpdesk software generates really long URLs for its "how did we do" stuff. That's the only thing they could figure was being caught. We've whitelisted it now

So, I've just found that Google had quarantined about 500 emails in to our domain, but it doesn't say *why* it did it. So, can anyone explain what criteria it uses to block these emails? Most of them are emails from our helpdesk to our users. We have SPF records in place covering their SMTP server being allowed to email as our domain, as well as the Google servers, so SPF shouldn't be the cause. I'd like not to have to constantly release email!

The guidance is the Keeping Children Safe in Education stuff, and the requirement for "appropriate filtering and monitoring". If you don't have individual users, I'd say the issue is - how do you attribute actions back to the users that did it? So, a child goes to a extremist website, your filter and monitoring software logs it, but you don't find out about it until after. You've got nothing to go on to find out who did it.

Interestingly, the domain is registered to "Capita PLC" but the details are for one of those "hide who you are" companies, CSC Corporate Domains Inc, who's own domain "www.cscprotectsbrands.com" is blocked by Chrome as phishing.

NOTE: Anyone playing this server MUST move all their stuff out of their backpacks from the Void Backpacks mod by tomorrow. The next update removes that mod entirely and replaces it with Simply Backpacks mod. If you have not done this by tomorrow, you will lose those backpacks and anything in them.

This is just an update to an earlier law which as introduced because there WERE lots of different types of cables. I've still got a bunch of different Samsung, Nokia and Sony chargers in a drawer here.

We don't have Fastvue. We can do all the reporting we need on our XG box directly. For example, I can search for a user's name and have every site they've accessed come up there and then. Or, I can create scheduled reports for category hits etc... Not found a need for Fastvue yet.

It really depends what you mean by "reporting". Do you mean being able to log in and have a look at someone, searching for their name etc... Or do you mean more monitoring - if someone enters a keyword, it emails someone? The prior, XG is pretty darn good. The latter, you'll struggle to find any filter that does this - it mostly seems to be the bailiwick of classroom monitoring software like Impero or AB Tutor.

I have to say this thread is a great example of making something more complicated than it needs to be. Buy clocks! Stick a whiteboard up. When the exam starts, write the time it started and the time it ends on the whiteboard. Done! If you have a big room, buy a bunch of radio controlled clocks, and spread them around the room. Why is this an IT issue at all!?
