Re-discover backup, use the specific Discover backup tool. It backs up all custom data graphs and groups users have created in Discover. If you ever need to restore Discover, install a new discover system, do a data transfer from SIMS .net to Discover, then restore the backup with the discover backup utility.

No joy. The TS icon flashes up in the system tray for a second then vanishes. No log files that I can find anywhere to indicate whats going on!

I'm sick to the teeth with this. I have a media centre running Windows 8.1and I run a private TS3 server on it. No matter what I try, I cannot get the TS3 server to load automatically on startup. I've tried adding it to the All Users 'startup' folder with highest privileges, I've created a scheduled task to run at login (again with highest privileges), I've looked at permissions, disabled UAC, all to no avail. If I manually double click the TS3 server exe, it loads up quite happily and will run until I reboot, then I have to manually load it up again. I've done a fair amount of Googleing but can't find anyone with the same issue. Error logs are blank, event log has nothing. Any suggestions?

You'll need to manually change the agent status value to failed in the SQL database via management Studio. SQL Management Studio -> SOLUS3 DB -> Edit SOLS3.Agents table. Change the Agent Status value to 16. Reopen the UI and the agent will be listed as 'failed' so it can be removed.

SOLUS3. It will download it and apply it and you can still leave staff with restrictive access. If the bulk of the upgrade has been installed throughout the school (ie, there is a 'successful' or 'partially successful' upgrade in SOLUS3), the laptops will upgrade automatically when they come online and SOLUS3 sees that the are out of date. It is a pain though having to wait for the upgrade to download and install, and if users are impatient and try to run SIMS beforehand, then it will require them to reboot to complete the upgrade (something SOLUS3 does not inform them of).

It's aimed at sites that have SOLUS3 auto deployment enabled. When Capita released SOLUS 3.6, the 'auto deploy' functionality was broken in it meaning you had to manually kick off the upgrade to 3.6. The patch fixed the SOLUS 3.5 deployment service so that you could auto-deploy the 3.6 upgrade.

Sounds spot on. SOLUS3 is stand alone co can be upgraded without causing interference to SIMS, FMS or Discover.

We did have an electricity monitor that E.On provided for us a good while back. It never worked as the adaptor had to connect to the main power lead in the communal hallway cupboard and the range was not great. It also seemed the other 5 people in our block had them too so not sure if they could be suffering from interference? Maybe it's time to look at a new one...

I live in a two bed flat with the wife and a cat. It's a new build (well, coming up on 6 years old) and we're reviewing our outgoings and I'm thinking that our gas and electric prices are a bit OTT for a small place like ours. We're with E.On and have an online 'duel fuel' account which we pay by direct debit. We pay £84 a month for both gas and electric with the idea that we 'overpay' in summer to take us into credit for the winter months. If you pay by direct debit, I'd be interested to know how big your place is and how much you pay a month.
