I have a really odd issue that I'm scratching my head over. When a user adds a new contact into their Outlook client, they add the contacts full name and then click into the e-mail field and add in an e-mail address. When either tabbing or clicking into the Display As field, the e-mail address just vanishes all together. I've done some digging on the issue and a few results suggest that the Auto-Complete list is corrupt so I've cleared it out however it's made no difference. I can't find any other solutions to this issue so wondered if anyone here has come across this before?

I'm utilising Autotask Endpoint Management for monitoring network devices using SNMP within a site's infrastructure (things like NAS drives, AP's, switches, printers etc). So far, it's going well however one thing that has cropped up and I'm a little unsure of is SNMP monitoring of a sites primary router. It seems that the SNMP functionality is currently disabled on the router and to be honest, I'm not 100% on the implications that could arise by enabling it, being the gateway into the sites network. A quick Google typically returns articles where half seem to say don't enable it, and they other half say there is no problem with enabling it. I'm not comfortable with enabling it until I can understand the full range of positives/negatives and potential security issues it could open. Can anyone advise why SNMP should be enabled/disabled? Edit: Do'h! Thought I posted this in the networks section!

I'm trying to get my head around what seems to be complexities of Office 365, tenancy limitations and Azure AD Connect. Specifically, how a large group of MAT schools with their own local servers and domains can have their on-prem AD synced with Azure AD Connect into a single "MAT" 365 tenancy? It seems with Azure AD Connect, a maximum of 20 sync accounts can be created, but it also seems Microsoft's advice recommends not syncing multiple domains with multiple AD Connect installs into a single 365 tenancy. So my question really is how should you go achieving this scenario?

Thanks @pete After some more detailed piking around, it seems this setting was actually configured against the incorrect GPO. After configuring the correct GPO, forcing a gpupdate and running a gpresult for the computer, I can see the policy is now applied successfully, and the reg key matches that of the policy.

I'm looking at an issue where a user has cached credentials enabled to allow login to his laptop away form the school as they don't have a remote access server, however away form school he always gets "No login servers available to process the request." Roaming profiles are enabled as well as cached credentials via GPO. Looking on the laptop however, the CachedLoginsCount key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon was set to 0 which I believe is disabled? I've since changed this key to 5, rebooted and got the user to log in to the domain to store the credentials. He's since tried again and still gets the same message trying to log in. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the issue could be?

Interesting... At BETT I was assured by Capita reps that as SIMS 7 has no end of life yet, SOLUS 3 would also be "business as usual" and will actively be developed as it also has no end of life date.

I'm looking forward to this. Any release date as yet?

The first BBQ of the season! Bottle of beer in hand, shorts, flipflops, the smell of copious quantities of grilled meats. Bliss!

Nice. What are people's multiplayer games of choice at the moment when on Discord?
-
They do indeed. However, setting one up is effort. Plus The Ship cannot contact the master server when you try and browse, so you could not browse for any new servers anyway. Would have to be a direct connect via the console I guess.

You certainly succeeded! And got my track to light green! Good job the repair vehicle was still around.

Shame there are no servers still kicking around, could be fun against fellow Edugeekers.

Hahaha! Déjà vu with you in the chopper on wastelands! Edit then: The difference between you and me is that I usually would not miss.

The difference between you and me is that I would not miss. I rest my case.

Hummm, I would have said that it sounds like mouse sensitivity is up a bit too hight but sounds like you;ve addressed that. It could also be mouse acceleration in Windows being enabled and affecting sensitivity in game? I know I turned mine off as in some FPS games, a quick mouse movements made me do 360 turns! Think I have my DPI set to 400 or 1000? Can't recall without actually checking later. I'll check my mouse settings etc and post back what I have set. It did take me a bit of a while to get to grips fully but now it's fine. Once you've got your mouse settings responsive, you may want to practice some shooting but not against sharpshooters or using yourself as a target! There are some really good downloadable single player rifle range 'missions', some of them really in depth where you can spawn people at different ranges, set them walking/running/prone etc, add vehicles that cruise around so you can try out all the different weapons. This one is good fun and recommended: The Shooting Range 2 (@) - Other - Armaholic Also found this one but not tried it: Kronzky's Moveable Target Range

I had my fill on Friday night. Next time, I promise that I will throttle back my 'blue on blue' shenanigans! I had the feeling that Chris was not too impressed when he got off the ground in the MV22 only for me to batter it with the mobile AA truck I found. Next time, we should work together and build a big roadblock checkpoint.

For the DayZ ARMA2 mod, all you need is DayZ Commander: http://dayzcommander.blob.core.windows.net/releases/Dotjosh.DayZCommander.Installer.msi You can download and installo the latest ARMA2 beta patches straight from it (needed to play DayZ) and download additional DayZ worlds & mods. Also acts as a server browser and has a 'friends' list (which only works if a friend on your list is on a server). If you have a second monitor or tablet, then have this Google Maps style Chernarus world map loaded when you play to make navigating easier: DayZ Standalone Chernarus+ Map - DayZDB If your on about DayZ Stand Alone stuff, then there are no mods or add-ons for it yet. The only thing is this Chernarus Plus map loaded on a second screen/tablet: DayZ Standalone Chernarus+ Map - DayZDB If you were expecting COD/BF style gameplay, then you've got the wrong game. ARMA2 is not a FPS, but more a ultra realistic combat simulator. Therefore, the controls do take a while to get used to as there is a button for everything! But once you've got the hang of them, you'll find they work really well and doing things in game will be second nature. The DayZ stand alone controls have been slightly simplified, but controls in game still handle in the same way. As for the AI, it is a bit naff but online play is where the real action lies. Try joining a wasteland server once you've got to grips with the basics and you;ll find a world of fun waiting. No AI problems in DayZ. Survivors are all players, and the only other thing to worry about are infected, and they just your bog standard zombies that chase and try to eat you.

Did you sell this, or decide to sell parts at all?
