The Alpha-funded Zombie Survival RPG This has just hit my zombie radar. Has anyone bought it or played it? Is it any good? Looks rather interesting!
-
Hahahah, just looked on Amazon, one seller flogging it for £85! So it's more of a financial investment then a tool?

Before I start, apologies if this seems like a rather basic question, but this is the first time properly using Ubuntu, and Google results have thrown me in all different directions! I have installed Ubuntu (13.04) in work but am behind a proxy I have to authenticate to. I've set up the proxy details in the network settings but cannot find anywhere to add my credentials. I did did some googeling and one result pointed me tol /etc/apt/apt.conf and I had to add my proxy manually along with my username and password like so: Acquire::http::proxy "http://username:[email protected]:80/"; Is this correct? I have to authenticate with a domain login and need to include the domain too. Will this work? Acquire::http::proxy "http://DOMAIN\username:[email protected]:80/"; Thanks for the help.

Updated: Had a call from Capita and it is still an ongoing issue that they are actively working on.
-
Yep, they've made a few amendments and restarted a few services. Testing on our sites now. I'd recommend logging a call whenever this crops up not just for our benefit, but for Capita's visibility. The more calls, the quicker it will get looked at (Iwould assume!)

Seems to be down again...

+1 for TrueCrypt. Awesome piece of software! We use it on all of our external drives.

Awesome stuff. I decided I did not want to be crammed up in the spare room like a crazy programmer so installed ubuntu on the wifes netbook so I could code in the front room. SOI hadf a play last night and I've done the usual 'Hello world' bits and also made a "Guess the number within 6 goes" game! Nothing cutting edge, but the fact it worked, and the fact I understood what the code was doing was good enough for me! I'll continue to crack on tonight!

Do I remember something about you wanting to trade with me for a card or something? Or was that someone else?
-
Plus I got my inventory down one more item! Now to offload these &%$^&* DOTA2 passes! I've never really understood the need for TF2 items. Some people seem to take it super serial! I had a 'Bill beret' from L4D2 and when I joined a TF2 game, I was bombarded with private messages asking for a a trade as people did not have it in their collections!

Yep, ours too. Someone else on SupportNet says theirs is working again also. Must have been a Capita server blip.
-
It should do, but SOLUS3 is notorious for checking with Capita to ensure you are authorised to receive upgrades and install clients! It's also to check you have the latest packages downloaded in your repository. taken from SupportNet's solution search:
-
It's not your fault, it's something at Capita's end I reckon! We have this error in various schools in our LA at the moment. It means one of two things: 1. Your SOLUS 3 environment has check with Capita's servers and your school is not authorised to have SIMS .net installed (ie, not licensed) or 2. Your SOLUS3 environment cannot contact Capita's SOLUS3 Authorisation server before deployment to make sure the school are authorised to have SIMS .net installed. I think Capita's authorisation servers are having issues. If you look at your failed deployment log, you will likely see a line with something like (404) Server not found. I've posted about this on SupportNet. Frankly this is absolute insanity! To install the SIMS .net client onto a workstation, we have to be completely dependant on the internet being up, and Capita's authorisation server working!!! If either fail, no SIMS .net, FMSor Discover installations! Nice to know we can install SIMS .net in a disaster recovery situation with SOLUS3!!!

Choosing a language to begin with
Rawns replied to Fleetwood's topic in Game devs's Game devs Topics
I set up Visual Studio last night, but did not get as far as to trying it out. I also started with the Goggle Python tutorial! All good so far and looks like it could be straight forward to pick up! -
It may be a good idea to contain all useful resources that people find in a single place, a link and a short description maybe? And an idea of skill level required? So far, I have found one! https://developers.google.com/edu/python/ - Beginner!

I'd say I'm similar to X-13. Did a lot of VB in college but that was ages ago when VB6 was the latest version. Those skills have been long forgotten. Did some PHP at uni, tried other languages and never really got further than 'hello World' examples. I'm OK with batch files and a bit of VBS but that's about it!

[sims] How to find which patched are applied in SIMS
Rawns replied to lionsl2005's topic in MIS Systems
For info, this method only shows patches applied after the last main upgrade you received. -
I still think at some point, steam on Android will allow the purchasing of Android titles. But that's another discussion...
-
A group would be better and make sharing resources/findings/code samples easier: Declare char(1000) { rubbish.code } goto FAIL Plus I can't load Terraria on Edugeek!
-
Sounds good to me. However I think I'll need to get to grips with the very basics and reach a certain level before I can actually be of any use!
-
This sums it up nicely for me. When playing various indie games and reading up on how the came to be because someone wanted to learn a language, it shows it is possible and that with a bit of time and effort, anyone can do it.
