I have seen it happen when the machines are connected through WiFi and cable. I don't think I've tried disabling the offline files will give it a go and see what happens.

Hi yes they are using offline files, the problem happens even when they are attached to the network, I did look and see if there was any issues with a delayed write. Thanks

Morning, having a strange issue with two members of staff, both of which are editing a file, saving over the existing file in their own documents locations only to reopen the file to find it reverted to the original state. If they save as and change the name the file it is fine until next time they change it. Both staff using windows 7 laptops saving back to home location on a 2003 server (we have another 60 staff using same laptop from same image, with same permissions, and saving to same location). Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance

we have exams for some subjects on a very varied timings and why would anyone tell IT there going to be having exams, on computers. So first we know is when it dosen't work. We do check it every holiday as matter of course.

there was a upgrade on monday we had to download and install before proceeding with tests.

Did the email come from the Peason/promissor or exams board? our exams officer isn't getting notification either.

Just wondering if anybody still get emails notifying them of upgrades the ESM server and Admin client for this as we only find out now when we go to log students into tests. Not brilliant for a timed exam as first the invigilator/ exams officer has to find one of us IT Techs, then we have to do the upgrade on the server and then on the workstations before the test can start. Hi just wondered if anyone else has had this wonderful issue. So you open Skype sign in and BANG Internet Explorer continuously tries to open Facebook until you quit Skype. Thought it may be a account issue but have now tried 4 accounts. Any suggestions or similar experiences. Cheers:confused:

Hi,was wondering if anyone else has seen the issue or solved the issue. We have 90 x L230 boxes connected to 3 windows 2003 servers (30 per server). When logging on a class full of students over half logon no problem, but the between 5 and 10 logon and only get the desktop wall paper no icons or start bar. These students are able to press Ctrl+Alt+Del to log off and try again, very very occasionally this works. we have tried creating local accounts to see if it is a network logon issue but this has the same issue no startbar icons for 5-10 users.
