use a combination of delprof and the user hive profile clean tool from microsoft delprof is well documented on here Overview The User Profile Hive Cleanup service helps to ensure user sessions are completely terminated when a user logs off. System processes and applications occasionally maintain connections to registry keys in the user profile after a user logs off. In those cases the user session is prevented from completely ending. This can result in problems when using Roaming User Profiles in a server environment or when using locked profiles as implemented through the Shared Computer Toolkit for Windows XP. On Windows 2000 you can benefit from this service if the application event log shows event id 1000 where the message text indicates that the profile is not unloading and that the error is "Access is denied". On Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 either event ids 1517 and 1524 indicate the same profile unload problem. To accomplish this the service monitors for logged off users that still have registry hives loaded. When that happens the service determines which application have handles opened to the hives and releases them. It logs the application name and what registry keys were left open. After this the system finishes unloading the profile.

"glorified photocopiers" SAME here We have a repro lady who does stuff for them but they hardly ever use the facility they just print 30 copies off with out thinking of the cost The problem lies in lack of planning on the teachers part that is where i am trying to tackle the glorified photocopiers problem.

Hi we have a Mercury Laser cutter which i am trying to get to grips with i have a endless collection of key fobs now I was wondering if anyone has any templates\resources you could share with us. Anything on safety/usage for staff and pupils as our D&T department are scared to use it so its left down to the IT guys to teach them how to use it. we are using corel draw 11 and x4 to design our projects so if you have any templates that you would be willing to share or any web sites that have resources available. Any help would be great. Thanks

i will have a look at it today Thanks for the tip

bye bye serco 2 years away from sims and things seem to be looking good now, after talking to a capita trainer today about the upgrades breaking sims every monthly update "he said it does not do that anymore" i will post back when we run our first upgrade. if you move to serco hope you are ok with editing xml files in notepad.(you will find out if you move) check the fine print about the data transfer from sims what guarantee do you get that all your data will be transferred ask the question. make sure your sims data is complete legal names, phone numbers in the right place (amazing what some people put in) as your office manager will age very quickly.......... whats the saying Garbage in Garbage out. Another point i would ask about is how will it work with your vle Ask about the Census data as we have quite a few problems with it Eportal Is pretty good, sometimes flakey on IE but in general pretty good teachers can get access to the information quickly. Facility is not the most user friendly piece of software i hated it an expert in sql would be handy..... our office manager was always on the phone as she could not get it to do what she wanted even 2 years down the line. Serco did not work for us but some schools are really happy with it.

i was told by my reseller that they can combine the serial numbers into one so you can deploy it. saying that the reseller went out of business we bought 30 copys and i installed on every teaching station (have a guess how many times it has been used).........................ZERO what a waste of money.
-
great no kids again i might get some repairs done.
-
thats what i would do but i would get a message to the others to say what is going on education is the priority for me anyway. if the class is year 10 and 11 i would get to them first but im sure you would have a tech so spreading the jobs betwen you all is the best option Keep everyone informed seems to help when things get tough.

bit late on this one but you have a ylod which can be fixed with a heat gun and some thermal paste. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U70SgRDVcBo&feature=related]YouTube- ps3 ylod fix part1 gilksy[/ame] gilksy1s guide is great also sony will charge you over 100 quid to fix your ps3 and then they only give you a 3 month warranty on it...........which kinda blows
