  1. do you have support, in the past they have been helpful
  2. i would go with dragon, we had nothing but trouble with windows voice recognition. expensive but works great
  3. we had a similar issue on exa networks, student logs in and can access youtube, next student logs in cant access youtube. as a work around i added a gpo to deny youtube for edge and chrome this worked

  6. do the users have access to where you store the files?
  7. if you go to Settings>Privacy>Background Apps and uncheck the button for all the apps, does it work?
  8. i think edge/chrome has a suspend option somewhere it freezes pages to save memory and processor usage maybe this has been set but as the post says its sims so may not be related
  9. hope you get it working, the exams office may need more control over the sims folder in program files, just give them full control as a test, exams organiser is a funny old thing. also just try changing the default printer a couple of times (dont ask but in the past other modules would not work without changing the default printer to another and then back again) its just something else to try
  10. have you tried renaming the my sims documents folder so sims creates a new one (done this in the past and it fixed an issue) in the users home drive also have you tried elevated privileges of the sims folder just in case
  11. dont think so our papercut reads directly from ad for the users it syncs twice a day ensure email addresses are in ad and you should be good to go it might be the scan to email option they may be referring to

  13. last resort get a laminated piece of a4 and try pushing that through the printer manually, I have done this on a few of our printers to get that stupid bit of paper or a rouge staple out of the mech
  14. upgrade to windows 10 (might be able to do it for free if you google it)

  17. sounds like a hard drive issue, can you run a test on the drives

  20. https://www.pennineeducation.co.uk/ we use for entire trust very good service they always answer the phone and do remote or onsite work actual humans too had them in for staff training for admin and they comented that the training was great and not full of jargon so thats a win when you have complete biffs
  21. have you got any logoff scripts running, system cat access a specific location so the system waits to time out
  22. oh it starts again, glad i ditched these a few years back do yourself a favour and look at something else as a library system
