Finally finished Wheel of Time! Absolutely epic ending, that I hope George R. R. Martin has read and taken notes... Now debating whether to re-read Name of the Wind and A Wise Man's Fear before the last book is released, or going for a nostalgic re-read of the Dragons of Autumn Twilight series, followed by the Twins series (both Dragonlance).

Might be possible using a Teams Live Event, rather than a meeting. I'm no expert though, only had a little play about with it yesterday!

We've saved a chunk on printing costs. The amount of mock exams papers that are usually printed off in preparation for the GCSEs obviously weren't needed, so that has saved thousands...

Absolutely, and it was needed to save the books from collapsing under their own weight. To me, the books begin to spiral out of control starting with 7, and by 10 there are so many threads (pun not intended), that nothing progresses. Thankfully Jordan/Sanderson realise this, and start to pull it back together again. Also, the clarity that Sanderson brings to the series is very welcome. Someone mentioned Robin Hobb, and I highly recommend the Liveship Traders trilogy. You don't need to have read any others to understand whats going on, and I found that trilogy very enjoyable. You can read it as a standalone set, or use it to launch into the other books set on that world.

Jumped back in at no.11 (couldn't face rereading 9 and 10...). Just finished 12, and it's a revelation! Really enjoyed The Gathering Storm, a real return to form, and the best book in the series since 6. Aiming to get 13 and 14 finished before Doors of Stone is released. Also worth looking at the Wheel of Time Reread

Really enjoyed the Locke Lamora trilogy. And The Doors of Stone, Patrick Rothfuss' third book, should be out in August!

Alas I haven't had the opportunity to test it! It's on my list of things to do, but a little ways from the top...

Just wondering whether there is any updated advice for using virtual classroom technology (Zoom/Teams/Meet) etc? Do we need to put in specific advice for using this technology? I'm looking at our policy for next academic year, and I have a feeling there is a going to be a marked increase in using virtual classrooms come September.

As we move into this new world of potentially having 1 year group in school per day, or many variations on a theme, I wondered if anyone knew of timetabling software that could cope with these issues better than Nova? We're considering using Excel, but i was hoping there would be a standalone package that ties into our MIS, and enables a far more flexible approach.

Main issue I had with RoS was it seemed to spend half the film retconning what happened in Last Jedi, and not in a particularly subtle way. There were a lot of good ideas in Last Jedi that were thrown away (and similarly, a lot of ideas in Force Awakens that the Last Jedi discarded). It just makes the trilogy seem like a spat between the two directors.

Dabbled with Star Trek Online, remember liking it, as the combat was similar to Starfleet Command then getting distracted with something else.. Don't forget Playstation Now, I'm sure FFVII will be on there sooner or later!

FFVII arrived a week early! But I have a toddler, so TV time is severely limited... Still, very much enjoying the 3-4 hours played so far. And the soundtrack is amazing, glad I bought deluxe version just for that!

Thanks for that, with the price of unlimited data packages nowadays, we will probably buy a router and an unlimited data deal. Right, technical side resolved, now to check any safeguarding issues!

Apologies for raising this thread, but it has suddenly become very relevant for our school! I like the idea of a 3G/4G device with a set amount of data released each month, paid for upfront, whether that be a USB dongle, or router. Anyone know if any companies are offering this at the moment?
