  1. We warned in March last year that the licencing cost was due to increase dramatically in April. We were offered a three year deal at a reduced rate, so we went ahead, but I strongly suspect we'll be looking to move in two years time!
  2. Same here, I've found PC Pro to be an extremely useful resource over the years!
  3. That's a possibility, though an interesting way to reset a Google password via a Microsoft Cloud account! I was hoping for a config change in google admin, I'll see what setting up Azure AD Self Service Password Reset entails and go from there.
  4. We've got this setup at one of the schools in our MAT, but they've also added governors to the system, who can't change their password through their google account as it redirects them to change their AD password instead, which is obviously an issue as governors rarely log into school computers! Is there a way to set an exception to SSO for certain users, other than making them Super admins?
  5. A bit of a necro thread raise, but perhaps relevant for people who, like me, have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get the new client working. WJEC have changed the server that the client looks for, so I would suggest adding the following urls to the whitelist: cmspublic.surpass.com demo.surpass.com wjec.surpass.com If anyone has a method of getting the installer to install anywhere other than C:\Users\Public I'm all ears...
  6. ScoMIS are starting to look into the potential of PowerBI, they showed off an impressive BI project with attendance, behaviour and assessment data all together. Even just inputting a behaviour spreadsheet exported from SIMS can be pretty powerful. Can I ask how people are connecting their SIMS to PowerBI so it updates automatically? That would be incredible useful!
  7. Interesting thread. At present, when staff leave, I delete their Office 365 account, which has a default 30 day grace period. Is this long enough, or should I be disabling the account for a set period of time instead, then deleting?
  8. Annoyingly, Visigo use device numbers for licences, where as E-Safe use student numbers. Ordinarily that would be fine, but for some reason one of my schools has more devices than students! Still, I would be very interested in a comparison between E-Safe, Visigo and Securus 360.
  9. We don't currently, but it's a setup that we're considering so interested if anyone else is using this setup.
  10. Apologies for the necro thread raising, but I just wondered how long this process took? Look at amalgamating 4 O365 tenancies into one MAT tenancy, and would like an idea of how much disruption it's likely to cause! Any advice gladly received...
  11. Did you get any further with this @Arthur? Looking at implementing this at one of my schools to solve the Hidden Files issue...

  13. Halo Megaman Galaga Anything referenced in the Go 8 Bit opening video!
  14. I remember seeing very basic and cheap laptop trolleys created by Little Dreams Might be worth asking them? Seem to vaguely recall the price being somewhere between £300-500, but this was a few years back!
  15. In case anyone else has this issue add: humb.apple.com To the list above
  16. Or at least it did work with that in place... Apologies for the necro thread raising, but iPads can't download the configuration from Lightspeed. Weirdly, any downloads from schools.apple.com appear as blank files (config files and spreadsheets) when downloaded through the Smoothwall. On my home connection, they work just fine.
  17. Thanks Richard, I'll give that a shot next time!
  18. Okaydokey, hopefully this might help someone in the same boat: 1, Find the Guided Access afflicted device in Lightspeed 2, Clear all queued activities 3, Enable Lost mode 4, Hard reboot iPad 5, Fingers crossed, Lost mode will kick in. If not, reboot iPad again. 6, Once in Lost mode, I've found that the Guided Access will eventually turn itself off. You may need to keep entering passcodes until it turns off, but I suspect it's more of a waiting game. 7, Turn off Lost mode in Lightspeed.
  19. I've now got two iPads with Guided Access set, and no time frame for the device wipe to kick in.

  21. Just to update my own post, I left wiping the iPad as a queued action, which it conducted overnight (presumable when Guided Access wasn't in effect). Still haven't found a way of preventing it from happening again though...
  22. We're having the same issue here, with Lightspeed MDM. I've tried: Resetting the iPad (Hold down Power and Home) Using the MDM software to clear the passcode Reset and wipe the passcode Clear restrictions password And a full wipe of the iPad and the 'Time Expired' screen is still staring at me
  23. Some areas are a bit slow, though I think that's because the Switch the Aerohive APs are connected to is 10/100 rather than 100/1000. I've occasionally needed to reboot APs to make them behave, but that's all done through the web console, so not a major issue. My one gripe with Aerohive is that you can't customise the Capture portal that much, and can't redirect to your own intranet page. Also, if you have the Capture portal turned on, you have to sign in each time you connect to the wireless, which is a pain for staff/student BYOD users.
  24. Exactly the same here. It's not been absolutely perfect, but I rarely worry about WiFi here, and the issues I've got are most likely caused by the wired infrastructure, rather than Aerohive.
