For me, it's the fact it ties our O365, Google and MIS (SIMS) together, creating accounts and Teams automatically based off their timetable. Also, we've been using RM Unify for a fair few years now, so it's due for a review, but sometimes it's easier to keep something rolling over when it's doing a good enough job.

Just out of interest, what did you move to? Was it a pretty seamless transfer?

RM should have access through the account created when federating the domain as @willtech mentioned.

Looking at our setup, the Super User in RM Unify isn't necessarily the global administrator in O365. I would contact RM Support and ask them to make your account, or a separate admin account, a global admin in O365.

I believe Softegg can supply and install Ubiquiti Unifi.

This is probably an obvious question, but I just wanted to be sure. The school currently has a 300/1000 leased line. Does this mean it should be able to download 300mbs and upload 300mbs simultaneously, or is bandwidth shared between the two? I suspect the latter, but just wanted to be sure!

Classroom cloud have a setting that prevents closing the lid from disconnecting from the session, so from that point of view it's resolved. It would be nice to have the ability to change close lid behaviour in Google admin though!

Just finished Joe Abercrombie's First Law Trilogy. Definitely for a mature audience! The scenes involving torture are particularly gruesome, and from that you can take it isn't a standard fantasy trilogy. Instead, it takes some of the tropes, and turns them on their head and it's far more of a character study than anything else. Worth a read if you fancy a darker fantasy than WoT or even Game of Thrones.

Ignore me, a case of one event happening (Smoothwall proxy reboot) at roughly the same time as another (implementing Conditional Access). Conditional access couldn't judge where the Outlook sign in was coming from, and so blocked it, so I've turned off blocking from unknown countries/regions for now.

Some of our staff are struggling to sign into their Outlook client at home, the login box keeps appearing even when correct credentials are used. Outlook will connect absolutely fine when in school, but as soon as they connect at home, Outlook doesn't want to play ball. I'm assuming this is an issue with Smoothwall Cloud Filter, but I could be wrong? I've tried disabling caching proxy settings via GPO, but that hasn't resolved the issue. Of course, it doesn't affect everyone, and when I connect affected machines to my 4G hotspot in school, it works as expected . This has been an issue for a week or so now, ever since the proxy service on the Smoothwall crashed and I needed to restart it.

I'm actually a little further up the M40, closer to High Wycombe, which is even further away. so I take your point Yes, the Onedrive client not being native is a massive pita. However, as much of our work is in Class Notebooks, it is mitigated somewhat. I just wish you could back up Class Onenotes...

Essentially we use Classroom Cloud to monitor devices, and use the lock function. However, students have found that to remove the lock screen, all they need to do is close their lid and reopen it, and they have full access again. Presumable because as the lid is closed, the Chromebook goes to sleep, turning off the WiFi and disconnecting from Classroom Cloud. So, is there anyway of preventing managed Chromebooks from sleeping when the lid is closed? Or keeping the WiFi turned on? Both seem possible, but either I can't find the right settings in Google Admin, or they don't exist.

That sounds, erm, less than ideal... Do you know what product to ask for to add it to a licence? I'm mildly terrified about accidentally locking myself out of O365 by setting up the wrong rule.

In the same boat, did you convince the school to put it on the school credit card? It's pretty annoying this can't be paid for another way, or setup without requiring a payment card... Or another question, do you find the log analytics useful, or could you have put in the policies without the reports?

Thanks both, works well. One quick question, using that command makes the 'new' teacher the owner, is there a way to must make them a teacher? It's not the end of the world, just means my cover supervisors are going to be owners of a lot of classes, and owners are harder to get rid of!

I'm really only ever going to use GAM to add additional teachers to Google Classrooms, could someone let me know the syntax for doing this? Command line really isn't my preferred method of working!

You could add the printer again to your Print Server with a different name. It will then appear in Papercut, so set that printer instance in Papercut to watermark all pages. Share that printer instance to students.

I wonder if any schools have done that and are now slightly bricking it...

Titans (Netflix) Honestly don't know why my wife and I have persevered with this through 3 seasons. It always feels like it's on the cusp of being amazing, and constantly disappoints, either in execution or the stupid decisions each characters seems to have to make to move the plot forward.
