What problem are you having with it mate?

That is made of WIN. I've never owned a computer with Windows 3.1 on but my cousin did. We never had enough money for a PC until we got a PC with a Pentium 120 and Windows 95.

Only if you remove the key from the ingition should it engage the steering lock, if you leave the key in you should be free to steer as normal. Although switching the ignition off while in gear will put considerable strain on the drive-train and probably damage the drive-shaft.

Our SEN department used them but basically in our placed it turned out to be for kids that couldn't be bothered to sit in the classrooms...essentially naughty little b*gg*rs. AFAIK the kids still decided they didn't want to be in class so I'm guessing Accipio can't be that bad.

Personally I've played both but I agree with the OP. Having integrated wireless and free online gaming sealed the deal for me. As far as games go there are none I'd really say I get excited about. I got excited about Tekken 6 and was let down, going to trade it in for MAG when it comes out. My mate reckons he prefers games on the 360 because generally the cross platform games come out on the 360 first and then are ported to the PS3 and on the PS3 they end up very glitchy. The exception he mentioned IIRC is Bioshock, which was written for the PS3 initially. NOTE: On the PS3 be careful. If you have a wireless N router they can be picky about connectivity. My PS3 doesn't like my £85 Belkin router but loves my cheap 2nd hand (off eBay) £13 Netgear router. Which I'm not happy about seeing as I loved the speed from the Belkin which seemed to connected better to my broadband but I would sacrifice the speed so that I can maul the Yanks on Killzone 2.

I just can't seem to get into FM2010. I just don't like the GUI and how they've moved things ever so slightly and I also don't like how the arrow keys don't move you backwards and forwards anymore. I'm going to keep trying to get used to it but I don't understand why SI had to fiddle.

Today I set up a projector and laptop for the head of MFL to display a Powerpoint to some visitors. Now while all of this went just fine, something I noticed was that the projector was very dim until she started the slide show. I went through all the power and display settings I could find but nothing seemed to have anything to do with projection or slideshows etc... The laptop is a Dell Vostro 1510 but I forgot to note the graphics chipset apart from it being Intel. Any ideas or experiences with this? I've never seen this before.

Perfectly. So this setup ticked your boxes and floated your boat etc...? Obviously a Mac Mini is fairly pricey so I don't want to rush into buying one in case it doesn't do X, Y or Z very well.

Fair point, I just never use DVI. Suppose you right as essentially the picture quality is the same right?

Why does the Mac Mini not have HDMI? Surely the fact that nearly everyone these days has access to a high-def television would make Apple think that putting a HDMI port on a Mac Mini was a good idea. I mean the Mac Mini is an excellent little machine and for pure grunt it beats all nettops hands down and also has a DVD-writer. So would it not make and excellent home media centre pc? I would almost definitely buy one for my bedroom because having a DVD-writer makes it a lot more flexible than a normal nettop. This would get around the whole needing to buy my own display too seeing as I'd be using my HD TV. APPLE ARE YOU LISTENING?? I WANT HDMI ON A MAC MINI!!

I think the Zavvi record store was part of this company but they then scrapped the idea of selling music as it was not profitable enough. Think of it as Toyota dropping out of Formula 1, they did so because they weren't competitive enough and weren't making enough money from it to justify continuing in the sport.

Just ordered half a dozen different t-shirts off them. That should keep me amused for a couple of days. Incidentally I'd better not wear the "Just f***ing Google it!" t-shirt at work, may not go down too well in a school.

Yeah that was me (DAZZD) too. Bikes are way better than cars, they don't have central locking. Lol. Anyway people, problem solved. Disconnecting the battery for half an hour did the trick. So thanks to all for suggestions and many thanks to Hightower for confirming the same thing I'd read.

I would quite happily do this if I knew it wasn't going to cause any more problems than I already have. Will post back tomorrow with results.

It didn't work. Darn it. Is that procedure for resetting the key fob or the car? With pulling the fuse out (don't worry I put it back in) I don't know whether the car itself needs doing. I think I may have to disconnect the battery and then reconnect after a bit. :Cry::Cry:

Okay people,a couple of days ago I noticed my boot lid's electronic release wouldn't work but I thought it was maybe frozen. Then yesterday I discovered my washer pump wasn't working. This all turned out to be because of the 10A mini blade fuse that had blown which is the fuse for both systems. So in my haste to replace it I rush off and find out I've left the fuse in the office at work. Never mind, I pull another one out as I think nothing could really go wrong...wait for it....wait....FAIL!!! Yes as the title may have clued you in I've pulled out the central locking fuse. I figured let's just put it back in and away we go....nope. So now I need to know how to reset the central locking system. Any ideas? Anybody stupidly done something similar? One guy on another site said he had the exact same problem and solved it by disconnecting the battery, leaving it 30 minutes, reconnected it and everything was sorted. BUT I'm not sure about doing this as probably quite understandably I don't wish to make things any worse...not that being unable to lock any door except the drivers door isn't bad enough. We had problems with the drivers for an Intel wireless card in an Acer Travelmate 290 where we'd switch the wireless on and it would BSOD. The error code on the BSOD indicated an IRQ error which with the fact that Windows manages interrupt requests suggested to me a driver problem. I updated the driver and it worked fine afterwards. The bit that has me confused with your issue is, you say that you start up the laptop with the wireless switched on and it's fine. Anyway, the first thing I'd do is update the driver for the wireless. Check both the laptop manufacturer's website and the wireless card manufacturer's website and get both drivers and try each one. Also if that doesn't work then note down the information provided from the BSOD and post it. Thanks, Darren

Thanks mate, might be a while until I can test it but that looks spot on. I've created/change the necessary files and now I just want to try it on a test OU but unfortunately my test OU has laptops in that I never put there. Anyway, I'll post back with results. Thanks again, Darren

I've been thinking of getting one of these with the Atom 330 to connect up to the TV in my room so I can wirelessly browse the internet and use Facebook etc, all from the comfort of my bed and in HD. I'd contemplate using them in school too seeing as no matter what computer you put in everyone will complain about them being slow sooner or later. Add to that the fact that some kids pretty much just play games on the web during lessons it seems pointless to give them powerful kit.

I think we have done this on a few staff laptops with varying success (mainly due to staff not knowing passwords etc...). Using a .PAC file seems like it would be a viable solution. Reading up for now, I can't seem to get my head round it but that is no doubt just a bit rust after having so long off work and having a headache. LeMarchand, how did you set this up? Do you have any links or helpful info to guide me? Thanks, Darren.

That's greatly appreciated but unfortunately that would involve staff having to do something for themselves. Unfortunately I would like this to be a seamless switch where the user is required to do nothing. If that makes sense?

Ever since I started here way back in 2004 as an apprentice, I've known that staff have wanted to use school laptops at home on their wireless broadband whilst also being able to come into school, log onto the network and use the internet in school without hassle. My problem is that we don't want them fiddling with proxy settings and changing between our proxy and no proxy. Is there a way in GPO that we can change their internet settings to switch between the two configurations? Some of our staff are more technically minded and change the settings themselves but as stated we'd rather they not do this. I wanted to maybe get this sorted seeing as at the moment I actually have some free-ish time. Any help appreciated, Darren
