  1. Thanks all for the advice. I went ahead and installed it and so far it's ok. Still hasn't sorted out my printer problem but I've ended up fixing it another way.
  2. Having issues with a laptop that has Vista SP1 on it. Basically it keeps losing it's network printers and you have to remove and add again in order for them to work. Very annoying. Can anyone tell me what SP2 for Vista is like? Does it cause more trouble in general or does it fix things?
  3. Is there suppose to be a space between the bt and c? It might not like that.
  4. Has anyone been able to get a working RM CC3 package of the new McAfee Antivirus 8.7i We have been using McAfee Antivirus 8.5i sucessfully and that required me to use WinInstall LE 2003 after making a RM package and inserting 3 services: McAfee Framework Service, McShield, McAfeeTaskManager into the MSI. I've done the same for 8.7i but this version uses McAfee Valiation Trust Protection Services along with McShield. Only got today to fix it.
  5. Using the Edugeek joomla package and all looks ok after the 1.5.13 upgrade

  7. The leap from Windows 3.1 to 95 was the best! I know that people had loads of problems with Windows 98 First Edition but I found it quite stable on my machine at the time. It's very strange when you load up a VM with Windows 95 and play around with it after all these years. As for today's OS. I am now using Ubuntu at home but do find I have to use Windows now and then for a few games.
  8. I've been into Photography for a while and only been using Digital SLR for the last couple of years. I use a Nikon D40x and looking to upgrade to a D90 when I have some spare money. For anyone starting out, I recommend either Nikon or Canon. You don't have to have a pro model to get great photos. It's about having a good eye, composition and learning how to use manual settings, depth of field etc. As well, experiment with different kinds of photography, it's a great way to learn how your camera works. I use this site quite a bit. It has weekly assignments and guides on all kinds of photography. Digital Photography School - Digital Photography Tips for You

  11. Ah I remember those days of the Commodore 64 and cassette tapes. Getting a programming book out of the library. Getting a blank cassette. Write out code till my hands bleed. Hit the record button and then find that you must of missed out a character somewhere and all those hours were wasted.

  20. Havn't heard of WDS. Link? Regarding FOG, have you used any of the AD features yet? We have used the Snapin package deployment part of FOG and it works great! Nothing bad to say about it... so far.

  22. We are moving away from Ghost now and starting to use FOG. (FOG :: A Computer Cloning Solution - Home) FOG has got to be the best free imaging software around!

    Best OS

I'd say that the Best OS would either be Linux or MacOSX (yeah yeah I know its BSD underneath) The popularity and development of Linux has exploded over the last 10 years or so. I remember when I first tried out a linux distro (i think it was an early Mandrake or SuSE) at the time it was not a desktop replacement to windows, no firefox, no openoffice. But now with the likes of Ubuntu bringing together great Open Source Apps like Firefox, Openoffice and GIMP into an easy to use and polished distro. I think that MacOS X has been successful because Apple have control over both the hardware and software, aswell its the most pleasant OS to look at. Going back to the question itself. What's the Best OS? There's just no definitive answer. I think it depends on: What you want your computer to do? The software. Well, that's my two cents
  24. lmao! Good clip
