Found out about this the other day. Check it out Google Wave Preview Apparently the Google Wave protocol is going to be open, so anyone will be able to make their own wave system. I can see this being an important education tool in the future. A future Edugeek project perhaps?

I saw it last week.Just like to say I really enjoyed it. I've seen the other star trek films and I think that this one is a good fresh approach. The special effects were fantastic too! Anyone who hasn't seen a star trek film before and been put off, I'd recommend seeing this one. Its not like the others.

I have just install Windows 7 RC on my home machine as I have a few games that are DirectX 10 and wanted to see if there was any difference to Dx9. LOTRO looks quite nice and runs well in Windows 7 RC and there is a small improvement in picture quality. What I don't like about Windows 7 is how they have changed the taskbar at the bottom. What was wrong with the way it was in XP? From what I've seen so far Windows 7 is an improvement to Vista and overall I think they have done a good job, but I could see Microsoft shovelling in loads of crap to slow down the final release at the last minute. I started using Ubuntu quite a few years ago and it is still my main OS at home. I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't tried Ubuntu to burn a copy and have a go. It is a brilliant linux distribution!

We are currently looking at setting up a helpdesk system for all IT jobs in the school. I have setup an OCS Inventory NG OCS Inventory NG - Welcome to OCS Inventory NG web site ! to get all the hardware information from the machines in the school and thats working very well. One advantage of GLPI is that it intergrates with OCS. The problem I am finding at the moment with the system is that support is not that good (most of it is in French) and the interface is not easy to use. The questions I have are: 1) Do you use GLPI helpdesk system? Has it been successful for you? 2) Are there any alternatives to GLPI? What do you use to manage support tickets and inventory? Look forward to hearing peoples thoughts.

sounds like your proxy server requires a username and password to authenticate. Is this correct? If so, in System>Preferences>Network Proxy have you typed in the username and password in the Details button next to Port: 8080?

I am currently trying to install Windows XP Pro on an MSI Wind. The machine did have Windows XP Home edition on it. I used KillDisk to completely remove the OS and anything on it. Plugged in a USB CDROM drive and started Windows XP Pro installing. When you get to the partition options. The hard drive is detected but a Removable Disk with no partitions is also present. I made one partition on the 120GB Hard Drive and installed XP Pro. After the installation I found that going to My Computer the Removable Drive is set as C: and the hard drive with windows on it is set to E: There is no USB or SD Card/Stick inserted into the machine so I don't know what this Removable Drive is. Windows does work but I really don't want it to be on E:, from past experience I found software gets fussy when windows is not located on C: Has anyone else managed to install Windows XP on a MSI Wind and come acrossed this?
