  1. City & Colour <- solo folk style from the alexisonfire guitarist Erik Mongrain <- incredible guitar ambient skills DubFX <- vocally created chillout dub
  2. Only one USB port? Mine has two...
  3. All ourselves here. Now virtualised 90% of our infrastructure and spending this week installing two new datacentres in London - all virtual running on HP blades. As long as you can spare the time to look through your options, check the hardware requirements and work through the process its not such an issue. Just don't rush into it half cocked...
  4. OI! What's this all about then?! You lot wanna watch out - or we just might take these suggestions seriously...
  5. *fixed
  6. Oh, are we talking UK tv? No idea I'm afraid - 'elsewhere' may be your best option...
  7. You fail? there's been three more Fringe episodes...
  8. A hell of a loss. I'm gonna annoy my neighbours by playing 'Out in the Fields' at a ridiculous volume in tribute..
  9. Which iPad is it?
  10. See all the videos from BETT? they were edited down on my MBA 11" :-) Its a great little tool- fantastically light and portable, the touchpad is great and all round very well made. I've used OSX for years so not any issues that direction - and I'm definitely not putting windoze on it. The SSD makes a huge difference in the speed of the thing. So much so I'm considering putting one in my iMac too...
  11. I'd see if you can get some time put aside for development Then use it to investigate new software/technologies that could be of use to the school. For instance using linux distributions to repurpose old hardware to new role - maybe look at fog for deployment? Basically find something thats not being addressed as well as it could be in the school, find a suitable way to improve or implement the systems and learn/test/deploy it. It's all well and good reading/learning about things but I find real world experience and troubleshooting is a lot more rewarding - both personally and from a professional standpoint. especially as its a palpable improvement your employers can see.
  12. Er, that won't work still. 64bit OSes just won't do 16Bit processing. Its an architecture limitation. 64-bit versions of Windows do not support 16-bit components, 16-bit processes, or 16-bit applications @RabbieBurns - Would Camyeo run it as a wrapped application if you captured it from a 32bit machine? Probably not but might be worth trying as a free alternative before paying out. But a Terminal Server is probably your best option.
  13. Honestly I've never found a way to reliably get data out of TMG or ISA We use a combination of MRTG and NTOP running on unix boxes to gather close to realtime traffic stats - Can be run as VMs and fairly easy to setup. MRTG - Tobi Oetiker's MRTG - The Multi Router Traffic Grapher Netflow and sFlow based Open Source Network Traffic Monitoring
  14. as I saw on twitter yesterday;
  15. Also have a look at sharepoint foundation Free version with windows server, ad integration out of the box. blogging, picture libraries, etc all included. Used it to great success in the past.
  16. That explains Bananaman...
  17. Lenovo, Stone, RM
  18. Hey Dmartin, Hastings huh? My old stomping grounds Which Schools are you looking after if you don't mind my asking?
  19. Nah, its all under googles lock and key Although they have released interface demos and walk throughs for various aspects online - have a butchers around. So far I'm impressed with it - and unless the next iPad runs full OSX, or MS fix how rubbish Win7 is on a touchscreen only device, I reckon a Honeycomb tablet is where it's at
  20. Could use BGinfo to do it on the desktop? Can I ask why?
  21. What's it set to in "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings"? Or by going to the power options screen and clicking "choose what the power buttons do"?

Personally I don't think the 'social makeover' section is very accurate.. we Geeks are social animals...we just don't wanna socialise with lUsers...
  23. No the good news we've decided to treat Windows Mobile with the contempt it so richly deserves The bad news is we have to now hear you moan about it....
