I think IWBs too - the use they get is minimal. That, or the Mac suite - not mac bashing just the staff aren't comfortable using them (with training) and they sit lonely getting mainly youtube use or the occasional bit of word use.

Hi, This happened to me but with a company called nordic gaming. Of course, nobody to get in touch with! The bank re-imbursed me when I claimed a fraudulent transaction, they chased the payment processor for IP whereabouts etc... and proof of a sales certificate. My advice is get the bank to do that donkey work - you will find it hard to find anyone that'll help.

Our school have been told that pension schemes will not be affected, the school will become a company and TUPE over staff and the governors become directors. We're South East and they're in the process of doing this, extra funding & less issues with money being tied up is why they're going for it.

I used to frequent CertForums.co.uk - it's a great place to meet like minded people, you might even find a lab partner to study with

Make sure you opt for a signed delivery. At my previous employment we setup laptops and sent them out to home based clinical workers, the biggest issue we had was that if you go bog standard delivery... they will leave it on the doorstep in some cases! Make sure you insure it, no point losing a friend over a few quid.

If you're all boys or mixed - you need something more... pro-active than Sophos.

We were given one by the LA - we have an WS1000, it's OK - it does stop bad pages with bad content & bad downloads, e.g, viruses - it shows it's processing downloads and scanning them... but it's only as effective as Sophos is normally... http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/9968/sophosboxconsole.th.jpg It blocks URLS ok, I don't think it's the best product around but it does offer granular filtering and some dynamic detection for high risk sites.

Drives are not as robust as tapes, drop a tape.. it'll work, drop a drive you might be in trouble. Drives have connectors and bits that can be broken, although it doesn't affect the data it can be a pain.... tapes are easier to store, less environmental worries - but I guess that depends how you'd store the drive.

Home internet filtering hardware
dwhyte85 replied to Dos_Box's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Privoxy is a non-caching web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities for enhancing privacy Basically removes annoying JS, Google Adword, adbrite, flash if it is asking for information, stops cookies... trust me on this one People use it for surfing porn and not leaving a trace... amongst other things, it can't be compared to a home internet filtering solution... it's more an anonynimity tool.
