Clipchamp licence not appearing for faculty.
JazzFlute replied to kennysarmy's topic in Educational Software
Ignore everything I've said regarding the staff license lol as just realised i signed in with my google account (it was cached 🤣) Still works with the student licenses as explained though so not sure why staff have no access/license for it 🤷🏻♂️ -
Clipchamp licence not appearing for faculty.

Mine works with the 2 licenses assigned as below using the ClipChamp App. Is that why you have assigned to staff as well? Office 365 A1 for Staff Microsoft 365 Apps for Faculty -
Clipchamp licence not appearing for faculty.
JazzFlute replied to kennysarmy's topic in Educational Software
I’m not entirely sure what’s changed with the Clipchamp licensing. It previously stopped being available for most work and school accounts and, as far as I was aware, was possibly only included with A3+ licences, not Apps for Faculty. For several months, work/school accounts couldn’t sign in to Clipchamp at all. You could only log in using a personal Microsoft account or a Google account, and even then, only via the web version, not the desktop app. However, I’ve just tested this: Using a student account (Office 365 A1 for Students with Microsoft 365 Apps for Students assigned), I was able to launch the Clipchamp app, sign in successfully, and use it — which I didn’t realise was possible. I then tried my staff account (Office 365 A1 for Staff with Microsoft 365 Apps for Faculty assigned), and it also allowed me to sign in successfully. This hasn’t worked for the past six months or more. It looks like something has changed on the licensing side, but I’m not sure exactly what. I can’t see Clipchamp listed as an enabled app or tick box (as shown in your screenshot), but launching the app directly still allows sign‑in. It may be worth trying that approach. -

Schools Broadband Internet Issues

Once installed just keep a log of the downtime/issues to feedback to SLT when needed as you will be pressed why the internet keeps not working and also the phones if you have VOIP. Advice is that when your internet goes down don't panic as its 99.9% not your network and always there fault. You can restart your router as many times as you want and do whatever they advice but its always there end. Support are not very good as I've just managed to talk to someone and got cut off mid converstaion. -

Anyone else experiencing internet issues this morning as i am with Schools Broadband. Probably just the back to school demand and hopefully back up soon. -
Does anyone else have this issue? When I try to create an AI video, it gets all the way to the end and then hangs on the “Almost there…” message and never completes. This happens in both the app and the online version. I’m signed in with a Microsoft account (not a school account, so no licence). Used to work a while back but last few attempts they never finish. Just adding about 20 pictures and a couple of short videos, tried removing the videos but still never finishes.

3 Monitors, mirror 2 but have one on extended.
JazzFlute replied to BenEdwards's topic in Windows 11
If you do go the Dock option I recommended links below as cheap (£28.00) and works on my 3 monitor set up. Also charges the laptop with USB-C too but the leads short so handy if you buy a longer USB-C extension lead. Docking Station USB C/A 10 Gbps 3*Display 13 in 1, 2025 Upgrade Lemorele USB Hub 2 x 4K HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, 4 x USB 3.0/2.0, VGA, Type-C 3.1, PD 100W, Audio, SD/TF for Windows, MacBook: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories SUNGUY USB C Extension Cable 2M, 20Gbps 100W USB 3.2 USB C Cable Extension 90 Degrees, 4K@60Hz Video Transmission, Compatible with iPhone16/15 Pro MAX, M2 MacBook Pro XPS 15 Galaxy S24 Steam Deck : Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories -
Thanks for this and seems exactly what I'm looking for to work with Windows but cannot believe the cost at £150 per unit! definitely priced for group work but school was looking at 1 per student so think this is a no goer.

Redstor vs Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup
JazzFlute replied to ConTheITGuy's topic in Cloud Services
Only use it for my M365 Tenant which is easy to setup and restores are simple. Picture attached of the products you can add for Google which includes Classroom. -
As its working now I'm leaving it alone 😂 CMOS Battery can be unplugged from motherboard as it has a connector, I didn't unplug the main battery from motherboard which may help but as its working now I'm leaving it.
-
yes, definitely think its motherboard related but as long as i get another year max 2 out of it ill be happy as the batch will all be replaced then. i have 60 in total and only have issue with this one.
-
tried that still a black screen, its like its displaying on a 2nd monitor but no display when I plug in another monitor. CTRL+ALT+DEL restarts it I've just found and then it boot into windows now I've reinstalled windows again.
-
Never tried that! could maybe have worked? I've reinstalled Windows from Bootable USB and it now boots back into Windows normally after shut down/restart etc. but still cannot get into BIOS but as long as its booting into Windows I'm happy.
-
Done everything you mention apart from disconnect the main battery which ill do now as only thing left i think.
-
The device does not boot into Windows automatically, but I can access the Boot Menu using Fn + F12. From there, the hard drive is listed, and if I select it manually, Windows boots normally. Windows Boot Manager is also visible as an option. I’ve tried every known method to access the BIOS/UEFI settings, but nothing works—not even choosing the UEFI firmware option from the Windows Recovery Environment. As soon as I press ESC (the key it tells me to use to enter UEFI settings), the screen goes completely blank, although the laptop remains powered on. Also disconnected/reconnected CMOS battery but still no joy. Anyone had this and found a solution?

Does anyone use any modern data loggers in Primary schools—not the old TTS models that relied on Windows XP? I can’t get the old Logbook Graphing software to run on Windows 11, so we’re looking for alternatives. Ideally, I’m trying to find out whether there are current data loggers that still come with Windows‑compatible software, rather than ones that only work through an Apple app. I know TTS has a Bluetooth version at around £120 each, but that one only works with an Apple app, and even those devices are getting quite old now. If anyone knows of good, up‑to‑date options, I’d really appreciate recommendations.

Yeah, I can only imagine it’s a nightmare for a school that’s being off‑loaded or moving trusts for whatever reason, because so much will have been centralised — Office 365 admin policies, Intune, MIS, core systems, online resources, Microsoft licensing, trust‑wide discount/bulk pricing, just to name a few.
-
Just wondering — with multi‑trust setups, what actually happens to schools once everything has been centralised and they then decide to leave a trust and join another one, whether that’s another academy trust or a newly formed local authority trust? How easy is it to “unpick” everything that has been centralised? Who is responsible for this work? Would it fall on the current trust, since they originally configured and integrated everything, or would it become the responsibility of the new trust the school is joining? Schools seem to be moving around more than they used to, and with the new education white paper this is likely to become even more common. But that raises a big question — who is left to do all the unpicking of the IT systems, and at what cost? Has anyone been through this and has an opinion or experience to share?
