Congrats! We took a flyer and rolled W7 out across the whole school last August. It's been fine apart from a couple of minor and easily resolved issues.

Certainly with you there on the contract v PAYG issue. Especially now with contracts moving away from a manageable 12 months to a stupid 18 months to the sublimely ridiculous 24 months. Who wants to be locked into a contract for two years when the handset will be out of date within six months? I'm currently on an 18 month contract, it will be my last contract. You can now get SIM only PAYG deals where, for £10 a month you get unlimited texts and unlimited internet and that's where I'll be heading when the contract expires.

Seconded.... ......... or wait and see what the Nexus One has to offer - if it's released in the UK.

In my view, and only in my view, the iPhone is a "pretty" device that has been marketed very well, there is a lot of "style over substance" about it. It lacks multi-tasking (so is not really a smartphone at all) and I abhor the closed nature of the beast.

It is a stunning device, especially so with the latest ROMs.

I nearly got an iPhone six months ago but decided on the HTC Hero. Very glad I did too. You might also want to wait and see what emerges about the Nexus One?

A classic vehicle. I purchased it for my daughter a couple of years ago but she has yet to show any inclination to even learn to drive. Its been in covered storage since then. In brief it's factory standard, has done 63000 miles and has a full suzuki service history. It's not a problem at all, no waste of time involved I think your better half is making a mistake though Android is the way forward! And Android 2.1 has just been released which should make things even better, I shall install it on mine tonight and see. Take care.

Update. Despite many hours of hair pulling and searching by me and my colleagues we are stumped. The network refuses to run in a stable fashion. We have now taken the decision to throw away the SBS box and replace it with a new R710 server running 2008 std + exchange 2007. Four weeks of frustration, wasted time and user annoyance!!

Not me. I did sell and install phone systems in a different life though.

JCB Tough Phone

Sorry, been out on a course this evening, just got back in. The JCB is just a basic phone, no WiFi or camera. I bought it on a whim just 'cos I liked the idea of it. I saw a demo on TV where one of these was chucked into a concrete mixer, churned around with some concrete for five minutes and then pressure washed - it worked fine It tickled my fancy. The N95 8Gb has been completely rebuilt by a friend who works for Nokia as an engineer. It has new screen, keyboard, keypad, speakers and camera - basically it's a new phone. It was originally Voda branded but all the parts that had Vodaphone printed on have been renewed and it's been flashed with generic Nokia software so it has no branding at all. Secondhand phones are worth what someone wants to pay, so make me an offer if you're interested. As guidance, according to a phone call I made, CEX would offer me £100 - £150 for the Nokia and £50 - £90 for the JCB. I need to get rid of them because I need cash for something else so - make me an offer? I also have a HTC Hero which might be for sale, not decided yet. It's white, brand new, all I've done is rooted it and flashed the latest HTC ROM. The accessories haven't even been unpacked and I'm including a 16Gb Micro SD and a genuine HTC leather belt case. Total new value is £420'ish. I'm open to moderately sensible offers. It's coming up to Christmas so I might be tempted to be a little more generous than I normally am!

I have a Nokia N95 8Gb and a JCB ToughPhone for sale. The N95 has been fully refurbed by a Nokia Engineer and has a new LCD, new keypad, new speakers and a new camera lens assembly. It's unlocked, boxed and has all the accessories. The JCB is in as new condition, unlocked and is complete with box and charger. If anyone's interested in buying them please PM me.

Our organisation has an email setup whereby two sites all have the same email suffix, the @domain bit. This did initially cause us routing issues with our SBS / Exchange 2003 setup as we had a situation where a@domain was at the local site and user b@domain was at the remote site. So local emails were obviously delivered to the local exchange server and the other site's mails had to go to an ISP. Anyway, that's just a preamble. The problem I have now is that a user who was local is now remote so I've had to change the routing. I deleted the user and the associated mailbox and ran the mailbox cleanup utility. As the user no longer exists locally then mail to his address should follow policy and route for external delivery but it doesn't, it still tries to route locally and then obviously returns a "mailbox not found" error. What have I missed to remove all traces of this user?

Hi James Sorry, I missed this post earlier. No, that's not correct. You can only have one SBS box in a forest but you can have other DCs in the same forest so long as the SBS box has all the FSMO roles assigned to it. Pete
