Too right I would be interested in feedback. Price wise - we try to be competitive, thats all we can hope for. We ship from Germany or California depending on where you are - these are both out of house fulfilment partners (as probably most companies do for appliances). Germany is a good base for shipments as we can cover most of europe, north africa, some of asia very quickly. They're also a really good bunch and do a great job on RMA etc. for us. Also... I don't think our hardware is old... the UTM1000 is based on a fairly new core2quad - we'll probably move to a sandybridge platform next year, but to keep costs sane, you have to stick to a platform for a while. If you're owndering why not xeon - heat & power. We find the c2q performs very well for its power draw. And please tell me how to get that CPU, 6 NICs and 2 Western Dig RE4s into a smaller chassis?

Yes and no - NG isn't designed to do that - you want the firewall product with the filter add-on. Same dog, different collar. Get your account manager to swap and change your licences. Ask them to talk to me if they get confused (but they shouldn't!)

AFAIK they do work - Dan and Lyndon I believe use units like that, but it needed a spot of tinkering i think.

You might try putting the domain in "do not auth for" - the mac is probably failing auth, and then retrying.

ISTR we had to write our own - but it only really works for ident'ing against Smoothwall devices (apparently).

OpenDNS is a bit too easy to circumvent IME. Websense is the market leader - and not for no reason. It's a good product, though you have probably seen a bad side of it - nothing is as good at LA level as it is locally. I would suggest trying a few products before you decide.

That's one (slightly brutal - cert checking has low intrusion and decent effectiveness) way of acting against https anonymisers... think the OP is after control of what happens on an individual site (like hotmail) tho - which will require full MITM.

Another vote for juice defender, keeps the desire s on the go for 2 days at a time. I'm a light user tho I think, and I only have the wife's older phone to benchmark against.

Everything is 'downloading files' - the best you can do is limit by size or extension, in https you'll need to be doing mitm interception.

have you checked that all the pins are straight? These companies tend to charge a fair whack

It is possible to do "deep URL filtering" on google images, where the original URL is encoded in the thumbnail URL, and you can block based on that. This is "normal" in Smoothie... websense you might need some regex mastery. Of course this also requires that you block access to the sites these images are coming from, which can mean blocking outright a number of popular (but flesh filled) image hosts.
