  1. I've only ever had Seagates die. Careful too as "HP" drives were made by Seagate. Not sure if they still are
  2. Even when you claim the business it's still difficult to remove stuff. At one point we had a picture of a cat that was tagged as our school. Used to pop up on all calendar entries that had our school as the location. Much lolz
  3. Have you got the ADMX files in your GPO repositories? We control this via group policy
  4. Yeh we do this. There is a hot key combo you can set to send it out too. It's all in the docs on how to set it up
  5. Document anything that isn't obvious or is non standard. Anybody worth their paygrade should be able to pick up where you left off
  6. Obviously not knowing the specifics it's hard to comment but is it worth making a new thread for this and seeing if anyone has a way to automate this? Automate the world
  7. Yeh you've said that before. What I'm saying is encryption is an art form in itself. If you are not an encryption expert why would you reinvent the wheel.
  8. Would you let a plumber service your car?
  9. There used to be a checkbox in the settings to allows VPN and remote stuff from memory
  10. Assume you have turned off vmq on all NICs and the vswitch?
  11. Just turned on LDAPS and enforced it. Playing with the veyon settings I have found that the following still works LDAP server and port: DC works but Domain Name doesn't so have specified a DC. Port 389 works however 636 does not Encryption protocol: TLS TLS certificate verification: Custom Custom CA certificate file: Exported CA cert in CER format, changed extension to PEM and plonked onto a share Hope this helps somebody
  12. We're on the same journey. Aligning leased line contracts so we can use MPLS then going towards single domain across the trust. Very interested in responses too
  13. Anybody managed to get Veyon to connect via LDAPS either SSL or TLS? Spent a good hour playing with settings and can't figure it out. LDAPS is definitely working everywhere else When using TLS with cert set to system defaults I get 2019-12-09T14:51:28.484: [DEBUG] [KLDAP] connection closed! 2019-12-09T14:51:28.484: [DEBUG] [KLDAP] ldap url: "ldap://sch4304.internal:636" 2019-12-09T14:51:28.487: [DEBUG] [KLDAP] setting version to: 3 2019-12-09T14:51:28.487: [DEBUG] [KLDAP] setting timeout to: 0 2019-12-09T14:51:28.487: [DEBUG] [KLDAP] setting security to: 1 2019-12-09T14:51:28.487: [DEBUG] [KLDAP] start TLS 2019-12-09T14:51:28.490: [DEBUG] [KLDAP] connection closed! 2019-12-09T14:51:28.490: [WARN] LdapClient::reconnect(): LDAP connect failed: "" Obvious thing that stands out here is it is still attempting an ldap and not an ldaps connection Anybody else had any luck?
  14. Support for Bacon butties?
  15. Just had a reply from our licencing partner who said it's fine. Doesn't sound right to me. I think @3s-gtech is correct
  16. Currently we have an in house catering service that the school run. The catering manager is included in our FTE count. In January all kitchen staff are being taken on by Pabulum, a third party school catering company and I'm unsure as to whether our catering manager will be correctly licenced. I understand our EES licence would cover contractors but as I understand it according to MS she would not be a contractor as she will be paid by Pabulum and not us. Anybody had experience of this before? If you have Pabulum as your caterer what do you do? I would be interested in hearing the amount of support you offer them too. I have recommended that the company install their own kit with the correct licences to be safe but I just need evidence either way.
  17. I ate the KitKat without looking at the leaflet [emoji44] although I did send a link to it to my IT director last week after finding it on edugeek so hopefully that's better
  18. I was told we needed to do this for the workforce census
