Hey guys We have a Smartboard here at Broadoak Towers that seems to spectacularly lose calibration for no apparent reason. Problem is it never does it when I'm there using it, always the teacher that uses that classroom. We called it in a while back to steljes and they gave us a load of things to try. It seemed to go away (think it was more teacher ignoring/not using it) but since we have had a new teacher in the classroom it is driving him insane. There is no apparent damage to the board and nothing leaning on it. I have also loosened the board from the wall thinking it may have been warped a little. We are currently using Notebook 11.1.1209.0 and the board has the latest firmware. This problem has followed all versions of software and firmware so I am staring to think it is something up with the board. The thing that gets me everytime is that other staff members mention (in the corridor; so I ignore them) that they have similar issues but not as frequent. Just looking to see if anybody else has similar issues

From looking at it own cloud seems more appropriate, the others are proper cloud services for hosting cloud applications and pooling processing power as well as storage

We've used webhelpdesk for 3 years and couldn't imagine my life without it now. If you do go for it go for mysql back end, front base is naff. Any specific questions just shoot away. Our site team use it too with a different incoming mailbox

what errors are they? if it is permissions just blast them with chmod . according to "man tar" -i will ignore directory checksum errors... maybe enough, try tar cvfi file.tar /path/to/files

I know what you are saying but If I were to buy a diesel car I could if I wanted to change the engine to a petrol if i wanted in theory. I don't buy apple products, or blackberry because you are "not allowed" to monkey around with them. I know this, that's why I don't buy them. Being geeky I can't help it so just avoid them. I know you are playing devil's advocate Synack but that's my opinion and will never change. I've been taking things apart and breaking them since I could use a screwdriver. Look's like I'm just going to have to be more careful before buying new hardware.

Fair enough, point taken. But why can't I still install a different os onto hardware I have bought, which I believe is the original point

Sorry synack. Should have made myself clearer, my reply was in response to Arthur's statement above. I agree with secure boot in principle but who are ms to dictate what I do with the hardware I buy! That's my beef. And again if you could reliably turn it off on ALL uefi devices then fine, but as previously posted I know of 1 device you can't. How many more to follow?

Correct me if I'm wrong but there isn't much malware or virus's can do if the user has a limited account so long as your updates are rolled out effectively.

Could you tar them up then just transfer the tar?

We have the keyboard but no Ethernet onboard. We also do not have a USB to Ethernet to try things used to be so much easier until they got "secure" (said in a Dr evil stylie)

It's on loan BTW but this and not being able to easily deploy an image to it make it a non starter for us

Fine if all manus stick to the spec... But.... We have an Acer w510 that you can turn off secure boot but not put it into legacy mode! Needless to say this upset me that we couldn't crack the admin password by booting Linux :'(

I'd be looking at finding out who was doing these changes and how. Takes ages but you could scour the logs on the DC. Filter by specific events would help. If it is a previous admin he certainly needs to be brought to justice. Not at all funny. Might be worth having a password reset procedure documented IE which passwords are used where. Substitute numbers for passwords if you can't bear to write them down

Are they all using the same browser? Possibly a cookie issue on the client side? Are you using database or files sessions. Try switching to the other to see if it changes anything. We use file sessions and have no probs Are the cookie domain details ok? Are the clients that have the probs with sessions accessing inside your network? Do you have any funny dns kiddnapping going on? Just out of interest why didn't you go to 2.4 at chrimble?
