Wsus Package Publisher - Use for Adobe updates?
markwilfan replied to Guru42's topic in Enterprise Software
We use scup. Once setup and have your head around how it works it works well. Just a bit weird and no way that I can see of automating it -
Some controls on this presentation can't be activated - Boardworks

Have you tried installing the new PPAPI flash? https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_21_ppapi.msi -
Has anyone applied the SIMS 2016 Spring Release yet?

10pm install for me. What a crazy life I lead -
Recreating the shortcut didn't work for me. Setting browser default to IE then back to Chrome did however
-
Had the same today too. We're not alone *cue x files theme*

My vote is for ms remote apps. Works across most operating systems including mobile and is awesome.

I have a Gpo to turn off spell check and the gubbins in office if that would be helpful. We found even in 2016 students struggle to save docs still lol so we've had to use office to be able to autosave

What @GRitchie said . Same here

random staff cannot connect to RDS 2012 Solution
markwilfan replied to jslate1980's topic in Windows Server 2012
These are the updates we had to remove to get our RDS 2012 R2 reliable with Win 7 clients https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2592687 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2830477 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2994023 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2923545 -

You running win 7 ? Iirc the update to rdc 7.1 broke some of our laptops. Will did out the kb tomorrow -
Ah ok. An mp in each physical site is normal and good practice from what I understand . Sounds like a trawl through logs is needed
-
Forgot to add. We have one on order at the mo with scan. Equivalent dell box was twice the price
-
Our 4 Supermicro 4u servers have ipmi built in too; so free ilo whoop. Great bit of kit
-
I'm happy to chip in if need be
-
Yeh I would
-
Are you multisite? Hence multiple management points?
-
Just out of interest. Anybody running sophos utm on anything other than a fat pc. Would love to get it going for when the spawn is Internet ready and was looking for a low powered dual nic box. Have you got this set up with a separate wap?
-
You can also roll a turd in glitter
-
Fully agree with what you say there @Norphy . Even the business section of the dell site doesn't give you a standard option for ssd
-
What really grinds my gears is PC manufacturers STILL are not offering SSDs as an affordable HD swap. I mean you can pick up a Samsung EVO 850 for about £55 ex VAT and even less if bought in bulk. Why the hell would anybody want a clunky slow 500GB or 1TB drive in a workstation? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr We are investing in SSDs for older PCs with the intention of just swapping the SSDs out as we refresh the hardware.

If you use sccm I think you can essentially turn the education build into ltsb using win 10 servicing. Correct me if I'm wrong though. We have moved to a vanilla image with sccm deploying applications post install. No more building images yay
-
Just checked mine too and is the same as @mrbios 's albeit with amd64 as the architecture I remember now when I set up the win10 deployment that when imaged the timeezone would not set properly, hence the tzutil /s "GMT standard time" entry in my TS
-
Yeh it's a user GPP we are using. Might look into changing this I think but works for the mo
-
Actually just had a look and I have set the timezone in the TS using tzutil /s "GMT standard time" as a command line. Will have to dig around a little for the rest. I think it is actually done with a GPP
