I do it here. I am 'Curriculum and Administration Services Manager' (whatever that means). I have a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the SIMS Software and so the Census is a relatively simple job. If you do not have a SIMS Manager then you are heading for massive problems with SIMS. It is far too comprehensive to try and manage efficiently without such a person! This can lead to the Census being a totally overwhelming task!

SOLUS3 version 3.2.74 has been available for a couple of weeks or more!

Search for KB106125 via Solution Search! It is not a live link in the News Item! There is at least one report on SupportNet that it did not work!

I suspect that on this occasion it is an error on Capita's part - as per the original wording in Chris's SupportNet News Item this morning. When it is the exam board that is wrong Capita usually say that there is an error on the particular Exam Board's Result File! They have not said that this time.

You may well be correct. Except it may be because Capita HAVE upgraded but the new and old versions do not match? Each time this happens the Exam Boards blame the MIS and the MIS providers blame the Exam Boards! We get caught in the middle and it has been happening for many years!

Exam entries for the Summer will be Version 13, I assume. Results prepared by some exam boards will be Version 12, I assume, as that is the version they were entered under. I haven't checked this with my exam officer. She was informed the minute she walked thro' the door this morning that we would be manually entering results so it was completed very quickly! This sort of issue happens quite regularly. It ain't usually AQA files that don't work though. Quite a lot of users on SupportNet have just changed formats without any problem!

Not all! Ours was completed very early this morning!

If you have Duplicate contacts then you may not be able to reconcile these, as they are 'different people'. e.g. Mrs S.Smith attached to one pupil and Ms Susan Smith attached to a sibling! There will be no family link in the SIMS Pupil record and the reconciliation may not work because of this issue. At least that is what happened in the intial release of SLG in Septemebr 2008! It is important that your contacts are not duplicated for many other reasons, so it is well worth doing a thorough check on these.

You can now also Publish them to SLG as either Word Doc or JPG!

Oops! Sorry! I also got the audience wrong. I doesn't go out to all SIMS Schools but they obviously can download it. I received my copies of the Capita SIMS brochure 'Freedom to focus' today. All SIMS schools should be receiving theirs in the near future, if they have not done so already. I hope the rest of you get to see one too! It's also on SupportNet - Resource 175437. Very interesting reading as far as I am concerned!

Only the school can make that decision. Your problem now is that SQL 2005 is no longer supported with the recent Autumn Release of SIMS v7.136. If you are still on the Summer Release v7.132 then I would assume that you are ok!

Hopefully, the CHQ Software will not only provide access to special Registers for Extra Curricular groups but will also, in the long term, have links to other areas of SIMS such as AM7 etc. etc.

BM? Behaviour Management? Not sure how you would do that! Not for every single AM and PM Session surely! I would not want it in that area anyway!

I have downloaded your Absence Analysis zip file but it will not unzip with the current version of WinZip. I get an error message saying it is not a valid archive.

Not strictly dumb Phil. More like impractical in our particular circumstances. Others may well be able work around the hurdles that I have mentioned and I'd be pleased to hear from them if they have.
