i need to find a peice of software that will log all print jobs i know you cna see it in the event viewer bu i have been told that if someone prints 2 copys of 4 pages it will only say 4 pages i can see users but we are on a bit of a econmoy drive and need to find out who is printing what and how much it has just taken me 1 hour to do one user using the evt log. any ideas would be great.

i have got a drive set aside for their my docs and i was told that there my docs was not that big when i checked it out i found out they were trying to be cleaver and make the files hidden lol and as i dont have access to the my docs folder i have now created a text file printed it a gave it to them ?? they have now asked me if i can put some of it onto a dvd so they dont have to lose it. Why do people make so hard i am not stupid lol. just wish there was a easier way to do it i have created a bat file which askes to input the user name area and text file to save to but i dont know if there is a eiser way.

ok i am stuck and need some help. What it is i have just been trying to sort the server i have taken over out. (after getting things running) and in enabling the disk quota i have found that a few teacher have used upwards of 8gb. but i have searched and cannot find the files and the teaches have looked in there my docs folder and they are not taning that much space. (this disk is only used for My docs. is there any way from the server i can do a search for the files or folders for the owner. or where its getting the disk quota from.

we had this problem and i ended up uninstalling the everything and reinstalling it all again and whe i did upgrade i had to uninstall it again and reinstall it all again. we had jumping text and pen unable to configure. hope this helps. (also i have found the latest driver does not work with the old software if you want i can give you versions tomorrow.

one of the things you can do is a terms of use and in this you can state that the School (company ect ect)may block stop emails and websites as they see fit as in the condutions of use and if anyone then complains you are covered weather it be webmail sites or whatever and if you add that application needs to be made to allow websites that they belive to be wrongly blocked and it will be investogated. I have found that useing a webfilter like dansguardine at home it will block a friends webmail because of some of the subject line words like sex ect ect due to its nature.

It works for me.

I have just found a good website i have not seen any links on it here i was wondering if anyone uses any of this stuff i have downloaded the suff and it looks really good especial the fact that it is free and it seems to work have been trying out the lanview 3 stuff and it works well and i have got it setup so i can switch all the machines in the morning its seems good has anyone else tried it am just testing the internet access manager stuff now.

we got a dell poweredge 800 it went wrong and got spare bit next day thats service but then we pay for it

so would you log into the server using vnc and then rdp to clients on the domain. the other thing is i have never used installed vnc where is the best place to start.
