also if you earn between 16-30K your intitled to partial financial support (assuming your single and a few other bits) I'm currently studying for a certificate in business studies (worth a 1/6th of a degree) just to see if i like studying at a higher level (which i do). I'm loving it - the flexibility is amazing and I'm choosing which modules I'm doing which is great for me. I manage to fit in part time study around my full time, part time and my own business commitments. tho i'm cacking my march/april time as i'll have 3 modules on the go at once. total cost for all of my studies this academic year will be £830.

hummm, works here - what your browser and OS? (it works for me in chrome on win7)

may sound like a dumb one - have you checked to see if audio will play on above machine and if a midi file will also play, it could be outputting a midi signal (would be a little daft to do this imo, but 2 more things that could help problem solve)

you'll have to lock the fb page down allot and fiddle with security settings - one of our local PTA's asked our LA for advice and they said don't use facebook at all - but they went against that advice and are using it well. (it came up at an NCPTA event)

Open University? - it's easily done in 6 years part time - but probably possible in 5 part time also.

you could always have it installed and set-up but only active on one server (DHCP that is).

He should have been hit with the fine for inappropriate use of a fire extinguisher as well. As far as I'm concerned it was stupid, he deserves all he gets.

tbh the likes of avi, jpeg, wmv, mp3, mpeg aren't going anywhere fast. there is simply too much we use it for now. -
Does anyone know of any good digital camera that does good photo's, not bad video and most importantly time lapse recording, and a good quick autofocus and shutter speed? Not looking to spend too much on this either.

Have you installed anything recently that could be slowing it down? Has the antivirus updated it'self and changed a setting somewhere and now scanning every file accessed and wasn't before. When did you last reboot the server? Have you defragged the drive at all? (not sure if any of these will work for you but the defrag sped up our servers a fair bit) just a few ideas.

The main reasons i say check you supply voltage are that you could have a high voltage which could damage some non protected kit, or a faulty UPS which could damage kit. Do you have any other APC UPS's displaying a similar issue or not? One would assume that if your supply voltage is going high, other UPS's would display a similar characteristic.

all of ours are left to the defaults, had no issues like you describe. do you have an abnormal supply and have you measured your incoming supply's voltage?

we sent our work experience boy for a skirting board ladder, and he came back with one... custom made with lolly pop sticks by DT for him. LOL.

Firstly well done, that is a very impressive list. How did you go about studying for all of those exams as well as working?

PAT Testing - seeking advice on what to tell a new PAT Tester
mjs_mjs replied to speckytecky's topic in Wireless Networks
this is why u would use redundant psu's pull one out, test it, replace it, pull other out test it replace it be on your way. technically the server itself comes under the low voltage wiring act (if it has no rails +/-50v). there's a possible, tho prehaps not legal, way round it for you. the person doing the pat testing should tell you the legislation, or quite clearly there the wrong person for the job and this needs to be highlighted to their manager/as far up as needs go. -
