That sort of thing is generally easier in spreadsheet - so run the report and export to spreadsheet and use the sort function there to work it to your whim.

A good compromise would be to invest in (or build) a NAS with the HDD's you gather from those machines for long term storage, dedicated to that department. Then whack some SSD's in for general usage - if it's just scratch discs, you can pick up cheap 512GB SSD's dirt cheap.

No. Ours are the awful 11" Lenovo 100e's that have been Windows LTSC'd with Examwritepad. (the others got Chromed ) Will depend on the reason for the laptop though - those with visual impairments would typically need larger.

The best technical solution I can offer is install Affinity and rename the shortcuts. It'll probably take a year for them to notice. Unfortunately even Elements is entirely handled by the cloud installers but I don't think the licensing is - worth speaking to a software distributor that handles Adobe and see what they say. I'd LOVE to get rid of Adobe creative cloud - the expense is daft.

Not that simple - and it's not always about which is best, it's which is more suited. I've done SIMS to Arbor and currently doing SIMS to Bromcom and both are lightyears ahead in terms of functionality and convenience. Each needs boltons to some extent to keep up with some aspects like timetabling and data analysis, and from what I can see so far Bromcom slightly less so than Arbor but time will tell. It's a bit like asking which is better, Xbox or Playstation - it depends on the games you want to play

This wouldn't surprise me - I have 3 support methods for SIMS - Scomis, Edugeek then ESS, in that order! (and we don't use Scomis, it's just a really easy, useful and well googleable website with the info we often need)

The FLIR stuff has always been top of the chain (at least in feasible budget terms!) - only reason I didn't get one was cost

You should aim for one of the phone based ones - Infiniray do a range that will work on phone or computers - bought one a couple of years ago for my electronics repairs

It's kind of funny really - when Wonde first hit, most people (myself included) were up in arms about the whole idea, GDPR compliance I seem to recall was a big one. I can't remember if it was a genuine mistake on their part or over-reaction on ours, but it's an absolute godsend now.

Whats the system you're using? If the phone honestly isn't loud enough (my T31 can be heard from next classroom and it's only on medium) - then perhaps softphones might help? (Software installed on laptops, easy with systems like 3CX)

Hi folks, We're preparing for a move away from SIMS (Yay!) and as part of data cleansing, I've found out that some WONDERFUL person has incorrectly stored parental email addresses in the Student email address field, pretty much since the start of time. Bulk importing the correct email address is absolutely easy via CSV import, however I can't find any information about removing the nonsense that's already in there? (The fun involved in exporting everything and ensuring every parent has a primary email contact and that what's in Student email isn't on it's own, manually, in excel. Deep joy!) Is this possible?

Seconded on storage - I've 3TB of SSD storage (1tb + 2tb) and still have my lesser played items on another 2TB spinning drive. GTA 5, RDR2 (and 1 when it arrives end of the month no doubt), Fallout 4, Cyberpunk all eat storage like Chrome eats RAM. I can't see if that's a RAM kit you've got there, but if not make sure to buy a pair of modules rather than just 1.

And thus, many of us are made insane (or even more so) as a result
