  1. CMS do it. http://www.cablemanstore.com Andy
  2. I wonder how file sharing affects WD. If anything, I would've thought the more files people share, the bigger hard drives they need, and so on! Andy
  3. I'll have a go for you. If I set the machine as you instruct - then hopefully should make the install of DG according to your guide run smoothly Andy
  4. We ordered a bunch of them recently (from Dabs) while the £100 cashback offer was on. All good so far Andy
  5. Will have a go at that. Will be particularly interested in seeing a section for DansGuardian (and presumably Squid?) Cheers, Andy
  6. Hmmmm.... this is the second time I've not seen this! Andy
  7. The cynic in me now wonders if Daniel12 even just registered to set this up Andy
  8. http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/Electrical,+Lighting+&+Security/Heating+Control+Equipment/DANFOSS/841/displayProduct.jsp?sku=MC00879 We have one of these wired into our bells. It had been here longer than me - probably a lot longer actually. Anyway, it broke - CPC still did them. I was able to swap the front plate over - works a treat again Andy
  9. I was wondering that - I'm sure it was in Blue Skies this morning! Andy
  10. Or pick up on your way home if you're me! Very handy Andy
  11. How about: choosing one system to keep - perhaps the biggest? And then bulk transferring everyone out of the other system - as though they were moving school. That is what I have come up with so far - I would interested to see if there are nicer solutions out there though. Andy
  12. Interesting... I have a related problem. I had this enabled for some users and changed my mind! Howver, even though I have now switched it off - any machine a particular user has ever been on - still logs in automatically as them - even if they haven;t logged into windows!! Andy
  13. Good guess! I guess some (most?) of us don't have the skills and/or time to construct our own from scratch - and why would you when there is a perfectly good one already made (OK I concede there could be many reasons why you would - but you get my point!) I find it is very flexible and easy to use, in fact it was one of our teachers running it, with little to no prior web experience, until he left! And also, check out SYSMAN's Edugeek/Joomla package! Andy
  14. Merlin's Castle - text adventure on the BBC. We used to play it at primary school. Recently found it and an emulator, and managed to complete it! - good times! Andy
  15. OCT 31 = DEC 25 Well done that man Andy
  16. Why is Halloween like Chirstmas? Answers on a postcard Andy
  17. Me neither! Maybe I just got lucky. Andy
  18. So how did I manage it, Geoff?! Andy
  19. I'm on Virgin (previously Telewest). Before I got my router, I was always changing between my desktop and laptop - I just had to reboot the Modem. Similar when I got the router. Andy

    Tax

I'm sure you'll need confirmation from more "official" sources than me, but I'm pretty confident your threshold covers ALL incomes. That could include dividends from investments, etc.. Andy
  21. Have just noticed that this is in the Bad Experiences section - I think the OP was just after opinions. Perhaps it should be moved? Andy
  22. Dos_Box: What's that stuff in the training room at your place? round the walls - with little antennae on them? Are they wireless APs? Andy
  23. On the contrary... We use RM software on our network - machine images can be created/restored (via boot disk or remotely) in under 10 mintues. I believe he meant no option in the poll. Andy
  24. I'm pretty sure cPanel do a very cheap (if not free) license for academic institutions. However, the server has to have a public IP address Maybe useful to some folks - not to me, unfortunately. Andy
  25. Interesting.. we have a Mercury, but when you send something to "print" it sends the whole file to the cutter for you then to instigate from the Mercury. Andy
