I saw a news report about some new internet connected vape detectors used in a school which cost £20k! It said the IT staff were responsible for communicating to the relevant member of staff if the alarm detected vaping. Doesn't seem like the most valuable use of the IT Staffs' time if you ask me. I had a look at a website selling the detectors and the software looks relatively good. However, the price of the cheapest detector is £749 each and there is a software licence fee of £75 a year per device! I see how that soon added up to 20k.

I personally wouldn't go for consumer grade TVs for a few reasons. Warranty likely void when used commercially and also the risk of components failing such as LEDs due to high use hours or burn-in if using OLED. If active boards are already installed and the interactive function not used, it's probably worth it to just install a new projector.

Our daily gas and electric consumption is now hitting well over £4.00 daily now which was unheard of before.

Out of curiosity, do you have a heat pump?

I saw an article on BBC today about turning things off like a phone charger to save energy. I know every little helps but a normal Apple charger is only about 5W and with nothing charging, even less. We have dehumidifiers and each one uses about 180w each which makes a difference to the energy bill when they have been on all day! If energy prices got really bad, we would probably start with reducing their running hours, using less lights, turning off outdoor lighting, etc.

We have had about 7 snow showers today. This morning it was just a few inches of snow and but it's all gone now.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion. It must be a recent thing as sorting the files by date modified has worked on my old iPhone 5S to my 6S. My current iPhone 11 gives videos and pictures random date modified dates. Yeah, some of mine have the same thing, where videos and pictures have the exact same modified date, despite me not changing them at all. It's a shame the "date taken" is not used for the videos too as they use "created" instead so can't be sorted that way. So far, I have had to use sort by name, and have to ignore the random pictures at the top of bottom (ones with E in the name which are edited images which have been cropped, etc). It must be still possible to sort the images, as the iPhone's own camera roll can do it. I guess it uses date modified and created together to order them correctly. Sometimes, if you have an image from iMessage, the image will go into a previous date on the camera roll from when it was taken, rather than from when it was saved.

For most images, the date modified date is the same as the date taken date meaning most of the time, the images and videos can be sorted properly using the sort by date modified option. I have no idea why some images have suddenly got date modified dates that are completely different from the date taken date, as I have not altered the original images on the actual device itself at all! All I can think is installing software to manually change the date modified date to what it should be. To be honest, I will probably just have to put up with it. I have tried taking all files off the original device again and the dates are still wrong.

I can't use Date Taken as only pictures have Date Taken for some reason so all the videos will not be included. - - - Updated - - - Windows can read the Exif data which is shown in "Details" in the image properties however the dates aren't accurate for whatever reason.

When uploading all of my pictures and videos from my iPhone onto my various Hard Drives, I noticed the files have random "Date Modified" dates, despite being taken at other times. It is like this on the actual device too, which means my files don't show in the correct order when sorted by "Date Modified". I can't use "Name" or "Date Taken" either. Grrr.. Normally the "Date Modified" dates are accurate on the devices so when they are sorted in file explorer, they are ordered in the correct way.

It's easier to just set the monitor to go black after a set time and require sign in on wake. I'm not sure why the screensaver wouldn't be working but it could be the cursor moving by a small amount.

Energy prices... The estimated price difference for the next year is almost £600 more for us. The standing charge has also gone up.

I prefer the Orient Gene and FlowFlex tests over the NHS ones as they don't require you to put the swab in your mouth and the NHS ones have hardly any buffer solution too.

One way I have seen it done where a Casio Laser projector was used the display one image from the teacher's computer onto a plain white wall. The image was huge! I have also seen it done where there are 2 projectors as you describe, usually running from a VGA splitter and duplicating the teacher's computer display. It really depends on the room size and layout that would determine which method would be better. The 2 projector option is usually better for wider rooms however, if the ceiling is tall enough and the layout, etc allows for it, using one projector for a large image would probably be more useful in that scenario.

They went to Halifax in person, and Halifax confirmed it was a scam and that it has been happening to other people too. The bank of course aren't interested in the number since it would just be changed anyway and said that contacting the police would be pointless too and I agree!
