rolfea Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Hi All, I'm unsure if this belongs in Educational Software, or whether it's a fault with Impero or Windows. I have noticed in the event logs on some of our laptops on site that multiple instances of the following error occurs: "Event 7031, Service Control Manager The Impero Client SVC service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Restart the service" Even though it says it has done this 1 time(s), it'll repeat itself several times during a boot. It's running in Win7 Pro. Has anyone seen this error message before and known what's causing it, or how to reduce it's occurrence? Many thanks.
WithoutMotive Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I've had this on our terminal servers in the past. It seems to have settled itself down but creeps up every now and again. No proper resolution as every time I come to look into it it's working fine. Typical

russdev Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Hi Only time ever seen that really is on terminal servers and funny enough we put a fix on a site Wednesday night and seems to have solved it. On the laptops do you use fast user switching. The fix will be part of the next release.
russdev Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Hoping we can get beta out sometime next week we were hoping slast week but had to fix above mentioned issue.. Russell
rolfea Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 Hi Only time ever seen that really is on terminal servers and funny enough we put a fix on a site Wednesday night and seems to have solved it. On the laptops do you use fast user switching. The fix will be part of the next release. We don't use fast user switching on the student log ins. It's been happening from a fresh boot, also. Have you noticed it purely when using fast user switching on TS's?
DrPerceptron Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 We used to get this a lot with Equitrac Express, I had an open support ticket about it with Impero (might have even been Russ), but I don't think it was ever solved by software options available within Impero. In the end it was either order of installation for installs (just about everything has been reimaged at least once since then) or I still have a script that forces Impero to wait for the Equitrac service to start successfully before it attempts to start (had to force the Guardian to wait as well). Either way, you should have another event which says why it didn't start correctly? 2
