IPAD Mini's

Hi All,

 

We are contemplating getting 30 or so IPad mini's which will run on our LGFL2 network.

 

Can anyone tell me a quick/best way of getting these all setup, connected and administering them.

 

Any other useful tips, tricks or pointer greatly appreciated.

Might not be right for your long term.. (but could well be)... it will get you up and running quickly.

With the LGfL2.0 - just be aware that their email will be really limited - mainly to Exchange-based email services!

Youtube is probably filtered... and works really weirdly, but if your filter policies are set to allow it, then it should all be good!

 

If you've got a Mac at work - I'd highly recommend the Apple Configurator, which is really simple to use, and quick and easy to manage and deploy your apps! Otherwise, the Meraki systems manager is good

Yeah, just unfiltered YT and only use web based lgfl email.

Eying up meraki here too for when I have those shiny devices . I think there is a centrify client too, and trying to remember the great find that was found at BETT?

On lgfl you just need to be careful what you choose email provider wise - if it does https then it's fine if it's gmail or something like that then ask for the product by name in a support case rather than trying to pick ports the lgfl guys know which ports to open up biggest problem here is actually about locking down the devices in the first place.

Will Meraki Systems Manager work fine under a LGFL and or RUCKUS network ? or is there a System Manager that works better on either a LGFL or RUCKUS WIFI network setup?

i don't think Meraki will have any problems running via RUCKUS. It plays nicely via our HP kit and I can't see them being vendor agnostic.

Meraki normally requires two ports in the 7000's opened outbound i can't remember if the system manager requires it too. I have a call with Meraki tomorrow and can ask if required. Or if you can wait 2 weeks I'm doing the CMNA on the 28th.

 

With regards to running on Ruckus it should be fine.
