Have to admit - this one is actually quite interesting! It was the ITIL Foundation one that was just so incredibly dull and boring - it was when I fell asleep on the tube and nearly missed my stop, I decided it was time to give up and read something better! Highly recommend John Grisham, and Warm Bodies the novel is really good too!

Boringly.... SITE-TYPE-LOCATION-IDENTIFIER So, a teacher's class laptop, on the 1st floor of Edugeek... EG-LT-F1-T

Currently reading Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012... previously was reading ITIL V3 Foundation Exam... until that made me fall asleep too many times!!

You need to create a .htaccess file in the root of the server, with the following: Redirect 301 /index.php http://someserver.somedomain.com/mywebapp/index.php

Really it depends what you want out of your helpdesk! OTRS is a freebie and is ITIL-compliant... however it's pretty comprehensive, shall we say! If you literally just want ticket in, ticket out, I used Trellis Desk, which is really easy to use, and with a bit of tweaking can be linked with AD

I've used Aerohive in a couple of deployments, and cannot sing it's praises enough! They work out about £500 per AP if I remember right - and LAN3 did one of the installs, but I did the other myself, and I'm certified. The management is just great, incredibly powerful too. Seriously worth every penny!

Creating a school radio station certainly used to fit really nicely into PSHE sessions - improving your local environment? (Guess what I did as my project back in secondary school!)

Just came and found this issue when I have 5 brand new ThinkCentre Edge PCs to build... THANK YOU!!! -
I'd go for the ThinkPad Edge - I've used and deployed these in a lot of schools, and absolutely swear by them! Support is still provided by IBM too so it's REALLY good!

Hi all, Just a quick question, 10 points to anyone who knows! If I set up desktop redirection, will it copy items that are already on the desktop to the new redirection, or will it simply present the user with a blank desktop? THANKYOU! :-)

[ipad] IPad Deployment - Apple ID Question?
garethm replied to EN4CER's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Hey EN4, Something like a NoteSync will be invaluable - Griffin also do a similar unit which I'd highly recommend, which also doubles as a secure store for them too. MultiDock | Griffin Technology The Mac Mini just needs standard OS X, doesn't need server software at all Re: domain use - you don't need to connect it to the domain really, it's easy enough to do if you want to though. But all you'll need to do really is to use the web to grab apps, so there's not a lot of need! Have a look at this as a guide - http://images.apple.com/au/iphone/business/docs/iOS_Apple_Configurator_Mar12.pdf I may have a more detailed one somewhere that I wrote for a customer if that's not what you need! Just shout if I can help -
