How do you convert pdf to word so you can fill it in?

Grr I trying to fill in an application form and is is in PDF format how do you convert form PDF to word? Google doc did not work.

In Adobe Reader XI there is an option under 'file' called 'Save as Other', from there you should be able to save it into an office format.

You can also open the PDF in Photoshop and just start using text layers over it there, often how I amend text in PDFs as it's much less faff and there's no chance of a conversion process borking the layout.

I just use the Foxit typewriter option, lets you overtype on PDFs, very handy.

Openoffice Draw. Generally it opens pdfs directly and you add the text as layers. If not, imagemagick will convert it to jpgs, edit in Openoffice Draw (as one document) and then export it as a pdf, which you then send off.

not sure you can do that, usually forms already come as pdf that you can write in :/

converting pdf to word is really complicated, ive used one before (think it was Create Word document | PDFtoWord Pro ) but that only converted the text and no images

and it was all a bit jumbled up...

real software costs quite a bit of money, and im not sure anyone is that keen

Annoys me when I get this kind of question from staff. Presumably the intention of the person who created the document was that you can't change it - otherwise they would have saved it in Word or .odf format.

 

If you're looking for a way to create forms that people can fill in, Google forms seem like a good way forward.

Theres lots of software out there for something like that, though I would just go with photoshop to edit the pdf
