At the moment I am struggling to find classes at the gym that I really want to do. Tried body pump the other day - so boring :(

I am sticking with Zumba and will start some weight training soon once a week.

I have been doing the vitality fitness 20min HIIT class. It is great because the instructor does it in real time - all three sets - so you don't have to go back to the beginning at any point.

http://magazine.vitality.co.uk/week-1-4-transformation-calorie-blast-workout/

I feel a bit better but still nowhere near as fit as I used to be. I am currently fostering a dog so it is back to long walks for me. But back in the day I used to walk my dog twice a day and do 4 high impact classes a week :(

Completely giving up anything doesn't work for me either, which is why I said I had mostly given up bread! All in moderation :)

lol @Joanne lol knowing me i will be like I DONT CARE and will still eat it. So easy to whip up a cheese sarnie :| so yeah sure why not :p

My day is smoothie in the morning, Meal replacement powder for lunch (Just for now will replace with a meal) and a proper meal after work which usually is oven backed chicken some cous cous and veggies. I have cut out fizzy drinks all together and try not to have sugary sweets and stuff etc.

So that stuff you brought to BETT for us was just you clearing your cupboards of temptation ;) :D

Ha ha no that was a last minute dash to tesco the night before because i totally forgot. I don't have much at my flat in terms of snacks and temptations. I just make sure i have tea coffee biscuits and soft drinks for guests. Cant put others out lol.

I did recently purchase a sous vide machine so will experiment with water bath cooking soon.

I managed to lose a stone between January and Bett, didn't lose anything Bett week, must of been the alcohol ;)

Back on it now, still 1.5st heavier than my comfortable weight, but i'll get there. Not doing anything unusual, just back to cooking from scratch, cutting out chocolate and rubbish (allow myself a little cheat on weekends). Haven't got a load for free time to train, manage a spin class once or twice a week that's about it apart from walking the dog.

Slow and steady wins the race.

I am trying to motivate myself into it by saying will don the batman costume again for world book day so need to trim up. Goals sometimes help give a sense of direction.

I've posted this elsewhere so apologies if I bore you with this again but since July 2016 I've lost over 4 stone in weight (a badly broken foot in Jan 2015 meant I was inactive for over a year, stopped playing sports and piled the weight on eating out of boredom). I've joined Slimming World, did the Couch to 5k to get back up to fitness and now I run 5k 4 times a week during my lunch break at work and have started refereeing football matches again (which for a full 90 minutes can be up to 10k of running/sprinting/walking in its self)

Really pleased with how it's gone, my will power has returned (as has my breath climbing stairs...) and I'm looking forward to the spring and playing some serious golf again.

I did put on 3lb during BETT but I blame Nandos and all that pizza for that ;)

After struggling to put socks on for a while and realizing its less than 60 days to my birthday Ive decided to try and lose some weight again.

Weighed myself this morning and I am a stone heavier than I was before Christmas!

Sorry for the bump

I've been CICOing (to a deficit) for a few weeks now and it's been really effective for me. Eye opening when you realise what adds up to 1500 calories!

Although I haven't been keeping a very keen eye on the scale, a milestone for me was buying my first Medium sized tshirt (that actually fitted) in my life the other day.

I've combined CICOing with ensuring Google Fit reports that I'm active at least an hour each day. I also try and get out on a long-ish bike ride once a day.

There are a few subreddits that have helped me along the way- particularly r/1200isplenty, r/1500isplenty (for meal/recipe ideas), r/loseit and r/progresspics for that boost when you're feeling like a pig-out.

Remains to be seen how long I can sustain this! I'm hoping I don't yo-yo, but I'm trying to take it as seriously as I can. Any tips welcome!

Good luck fellow fat fighters!

This didn't work. I must do better.

I've started a climbing class on Mondays. First time this week and it was awesome. Fun and didn't feel like exercise, but good for muscles and cardio! Highly recommend.

I started a Slim fast diet yesterday, my aim is to do that for a month mixed with daily calf stretches to sort out ongoing issues i've had with them my achilles mand my shins, thenafter a month or so of (hopefully) losing, start introducing more physical exercise.

I've been stuck in a wight gain/injury loop for a good couple of years now. Hoping that by doing Slim fast it'll just take the edge off slightly....

Three months off any form of exercise after two surgeries but back on the straight and narrow eating last Monday and have done two 4k runs yesterday and today during lunch. Nearly died on each occasion but slowly getting back into the swing of it. Plan to be a lean mean machine again by Christmas Day....

Whilst I am not super unhappy with my shape and fitness, it just seems to me that however hard I try nothing seems to change. I eat fewer calories than I use on most days, I do core and Zumba at the gym and HITT at home, and I walk the dog for at least an hour every day.

Most of my friends do much less than I do, and seem to eat more - cake and all sorts. And yet they are all pretty slim.

As I havent had a dog for two years, you would think that walking him every day would make a difference too - and yet it doesnt seem so.

Nothing seems to get any easier either :(

Joined Puregym a couple of weeks ago, have been 8 times so far and I'm actually enjoying it. I never thought i'd actually like to exercise but i find it quite fun and spending an hour there seems to go extremely quick.

Hopefully i stick with it and lose some weight and gain some muscles :)

IF YOU THINK IT IS FUN YOU ARE NOT WORKING HARD ENOUGH!!!!!

(which is what my aerobics instructor used to shout at us)

Started cutting down in Feb, joined Slimming world in May, started running as a hobby in July, and have lost 2 st, have since ditched slimming world (still eating well) as since i've up my running i'm not losing weight as fast although body shape is changing noticably.

I always shunned running, never enjoyed it when I was younger, have now joined a local running club at the ripe old age of 42 and will be doing my 1st half marathon on Oct 1st. It's oddly addictive.

This app from the NHS might be of interest to some

Active 10 - Because there's only one you - nhs

10 brisk minutes

A brisk 10 minute walk every day can make a difference to your health. Each 10 minute burst of exercise is known as an “Active 10”.

Brisk walking is simply walking faster than usual, at a pace that gets your heart pumping. Start with a 10 minute brisk walk a day and then see if you can gradually build up to more.

It’s the easy way to improve your health and wellbeing. No gym memberships, no Lycra. Just 10 minutes and you!

Our free Active 10 app takes away the guesswork. It shows how much brisk walking you’re doing and how you can do more. It's easy to use and helps you set your goals for the day.

I have just installed it on my phone, more from curiosity than anything.

Last posted here in September but happy to report I haven't fallen off the rails (yet!). Still eating to a caloric deficit and tracking my food using MyFitnessPal (highly recommended if you're intending to lose weight and are obsessive with numbers like me).

Bought a small size shirt recently which I've never been able to do in my adult life! Always been a L or XL (or bigger...)

Interestingly have had my ID rejected a couple of times by people claiming I don't look like the photo, and have had to pull out another ID to prove it's me.

Have started experimenting with things like OMAD (one meal a day- pig out on 1500 calories for one meal, having fasted for ~24hrs). Met with a PT who suggested it's time to start maintenance (reducing the deficit so you're neither losing nor gaining weight) and bulking out, so looks like I'll need to learn what this 'Gym' thing is...

It's been a massive learning experience for me and I'd encourage you to give calorie counting a go if you're struggling with weight loss. There's a lot of useful information on r/loseit and other subreddits.

Going to try and pick up Couch to 5K again and half tempted to join the sunday league footy team a lot of my friends play for. What's going on?!
