I'm supposed to be finishing off eSafety day presentations for Tuesday, but achieving little. I imagine those who were manning the stand can hardly move!

I got to the meeting spot in Brum for 7am as per instructed, we were then meant to get to pick up point 2 at 7:25...we got there at like 8:30 or something. Started our journey, coach driver then declares he needs his legally required break. We finally roll into London at just before 12?! Said hello to Edugeek for a bit....had lunch bought for me....rushed around exhibition for over an hour, then spent last few minutes with the geeks. Will make my own way next year...

witch Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I love it when people say that. The highlight for me was when the Canadians at Samsung were so keen to learn about edugeek that I ended up showing them the site on their computers rather than them selling me their nifty BYOD software

north-ict Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) I really enjoyed this years BETT got to hit the places I needed to see and talk to. Didn't really grab much stuff since just really picked up what I needed. The layout of the edugeek stand was pretty impressive and I got to meet a few of you @Dos_Box , @Domino , @Ric_ and a few others on the stand that I am trying to recall! (Please tell me if you said hello!) I did worry for a brief second when @Dos_Box goes 'This is north-ict' and people going 'aaaaah' :| . I believe I also very briefly met @Gonk ? Sorry I said no to the pizza I am trying to stick to my new diet regime, the teachers were shocked when I busted out pre peeled grapefruit pieces I peeled the night before LOL. I think the best compliment I got at the fair was a lady on a stand said 'The techies hate it when they get dragged along with the teachers to these things' to which the teachers I was with said 'No he dragged us' lol. It worked out really well and got some very productive outcomes from them coming along too which I was very pleased with. Bumped into @X-13 on the way out and had a brief natter we work in the same borough so was nice to catch up. Hopefully meet some more of you next year! Edited February 4, 2013 by north-ict

I Enjoyed seeing the new parent app from groupcall mainly Sorry didn't make it over to the edugeek stand, I walked by quickly and saw pizza but had to catch a mate for a beer and it was getting late by that time. Also took a look at the Acer stand with all their weird and wacky windows 8 devices, TASC software and the Discover on the capita stand. Overall not as much innovation this year as last but still worth a visit.
AJWhite1970 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I enjoyed BETT this year but was a bit disappointed with the layout, with several of the big zones in the middle it made some of the aisles round the outsides a bit like Hogwards staircases and they went to dead ends meaning lots of the smaller stands were a bit lost as people backtracked etc. While I don't advocate the roman road straight lines format, it was very hard to cover the show in a sweeping motion like you could do at Olympia. However, first year and all that, very impressive venue but was surprised how quiet Saturday was this year (maybe put-off by the DLR being closed) where-as Friday was heaving and at times slightly too overcrowded round the top end. If I'd wanted to buy a smartboard this year then I would have been in geek heaven, as for the rest of the show, a bit lacking in technology from previous shows but then maybe this year I wasn't really looking for anything specific. As for the traditional see what I could pick-up for the children, well I think I did OK. Good job I don't fly to BETT ;-)
sidewinder Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Enjoyed the show all in all though there wasn't much that made me go wow. Still just about worth going to. Excel is a way better venue than Olympia, so much more space, though it was quite confusing to find my way around. Nice to have more space to take a break in the central area, and loads of choice of food, though some more benches would have been nice
