Things that interest me personally are Solaris, VMWARE and HA Clusters (VCS/Sun Cluster/HACMP). So I will be hanging out in *nix, Hardware and Thin Client Virtual Machines forums. WTL Plc is a Principle Sun Partner, IBM Business Partner and Enterprise VMWARE partner, amongst others. Free poloshirt to the first person that can guess what "WTL" is short for. Excellent site though - I mention it to a lot of the other IT staff here. I now work at the Hull York Medical School (@ Hull Uni), but have worked as IT Tech, then Network Manager at a couple of secondaries. I'm just going to post up a helpdesk job, if anyone's interested. I am at one school for a whole day and other schools for half a day. It's challenging but very interesting, the worst thing being remembering so many passwords and teachers names!

Hi Brian, Welcome to EduGeek!! Your role is very similar to mine. Based at a secondary school and rolled out to 7 local feeder primary schools. Spend most of my time supporting the CC3 at the sec school, but range from RM StoreBox to CC4 to Vanilla networks. Like you I have a lost list in my head of usernames/passwords which gets very confusing!

Will admit to going to Outwood Grange, however (OG was the.. less prestigious.. comprehensive down the road from Silcoates for those not familiar with Wakey Schools!)
